The formation of functional vasculature in solid tumours enables delivery of oxygen and nutrients, and is vital for effective treatment with chemotherapeutic agents. Longitudinal characterisation of vascular networks can be enabled using mesoscopic photoacoustic imaging, but requires accurate image co-registration to precisely assess local changes across disease development or in response to therapy. Co-registration in photoacoustic imaging is challenging due to the complex nature of the generated signal, including the sparsity of data, artefacts related to the illumination/detection geometry, scan-to-scan technical variability, and biological variability, such as transient changes in perfusion.

Background: Despite the widespread use of diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) in metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD), MRI acquisition and quantification techniques vary in the literature suggesting the need for established and reproducible protocols. The goal of this study was to assess inter-visit and inter-reader reproducibility of DWI- and IVIM-derived parameters in patients with MAFLD and healthy volunteers using extensive sampling of the "fast" compartment, non-rigid registration, and exclusion voxels with poor fit quality.

Methods: From June 2019 to April 2023, 31 subjects (20 patients with biopsy-proven MAFLD and 11 healthy volunteers) were included in this IRB-approved study.

The "Société d'histoire de la pharmacie" was chronologically the first society for the history of pharmacy in the world. It was initiated by a triumvirate : Eugene-Humbert Guitard (1884-1976), a young graduate of the "Ecole des chartes", Charles Buchet (1848-1933), director of an important pharmaceutical cooperative named "Pharmacie central de France", and Paul Dorveaux (1851-1938), the librarian of the Superior School of Pharmacy of Paris. Those three men were perfectly complementary: the pharmacist Buchet was the "financial", the doctor Dorveaux was the "strategist" and Guitard was in charge of the practical realization.
