Background: In recent decades, relapsing remitting multiple sclerosis (MS) became more treatable through new disease-modifying therapies (DMTs). Identifying safe treatments with minimal fetal risks for family planning is needed.

Methods: In this prospective cohort from the German MS and Pregnancy Registry (DMSKW), we analyzed pregnancy and neonatal outcomes in MS-patients using descriptive statistics and logistic/linear regression models to compare DMT-exposed pregnancies to DMT-unexposed pregnancies.

Background: In Europe, ofatumumab is approved for breastfeeding, but data on its transfer into breast milk and clinical experience are lacking.

Objective: To analyze (1) health, development, and adverse events after live vaccination of ofatumumab-exposed breastfed infants and (2) detectability of ofatumumab in breast milk, and to calculate the relative infant dose (RID) using two methods, the traditional method and a second method considering maternal exposure to multiple ofatumumab doses and extended collection period.

Aim Of The Study: The purpose of the present study was to evaluate demographic characteristics of inmates in the Canton of Zurich (exposure), and investigate the changes in diseases and drug use between 2015 and 2020 (outcome).

Methods: The study prospectively evaluated 51,989 inmates admitted to the Police Prison Zurich in Switzerland between 1 April 2015 and 31 August 2020 and who were systematically medically assessed. A total of 19,027 (37%) inmates had one or more health conditions, which the authors recorded according to the International Classification of Diseases-10 (ICD-10), in addition to demographic data (country of origin, sex, age, year of imprisonment), as well as details of any drugs used (type and dosage).

When the membrane protein CD40 ligand (CD40L) on activated T cells binds the receptor CD40 on B-cells, it provides a co-stimulatory signal for B cell activation. Dysregulation of the CD40L:CD40 axis is associated with inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. The presence of soluble CD40L (sCD40L) in plasma is implicated in several diseases, from cardiovascular and autoimmune diseases to different types of cancer, and sCD40L has been suggested as a valuable marker of disease.

Transition metal carbides find widespread use throughout industry due to their high strength and resilience under extreme conditions. However, they remain largely limited to compounds formed from the early d-block elements, since the mid-to-late transition metals do not form thermodynamically stable carbides. We report here the high-pressure bulk synthesis of large single crystals of a novel metastable manganese carbide compound, MnC (P6/mmc), which adopts the anti-NiAs-type structure with significant substoichiometry at the carbon sites.

The delafossites are a class of layered metal oxides that are notable for being able to exhibit optical transparency alongside an in-plane electrical conductivity, making them promising platforms for the development of transparent conductive oxides. Pressure-induced polymorphism offers a direct method for altering the electrical and optical properties in this class, and although the copper delafossites have been studied extensively under pressure, the silver delafossites remain only partially studied. We report two new high-pressure polymorphs of silver ferrite delafossite, AgFeO, that are stabilized above ∼6 and ∼14 GPa.

In this work, a spatially resolved analytical method based on scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM) to distinguish different degradation phenomena in polymer electrolyte membranes was developed. SECM was combined with a Franz diffusion cell to distinguish between radical-induced aging of a sulfonated tetrafluoroethylene based fluoropolymer-copolymer due to deactivation of the sulfonic acid groups followed by a decreased proton conductivity, and the radical-induced formation of cracks and holes in the polymer. The experiments were performed with ferrocyanide as redox mediator to detect holes and cracks, and protons (sulfuric acid) to determine the through-plane proton conductivity, respectively.
