Antibiotic resistance poses a significant human and economic burden. In France, which ranks among the highest consumers of antibiotics in Europe, 93% of prescriptions are issued in primary care, primarily for respiratory tract infections. It is crucial to limit both the indications and the duration of antibiotic prescriptions, with recently updated recommendations in France aimed at achieving this goal.

Patients And Methods: In 2021, we performed a cross-sectional and pharmaco-economic study of a network of six GPs.

Objectives: To analyse the time elapsed between the prescription of antibiotics and their pick-up at the pharmacy and identify their determinants.
Methods: We used the National Health Insurance reimbursement databases on antibiotics delivery in 2021 in La Manche, Western France. Delayed delivery was defined as the time between prescription and antibiotic pick-up of >24 hours.
The report highlights an epidemiological change in the circulation of respiratory viruses in pediatric populations due to strategies adopted against COVID-19 pandemic. COVID-19 has resulted in a significant increase in requests for multiplex respiratory research to identify the virus responsible for the symptoms. The diagnostic needs have increased, and the number of samples analyzed in 2021-2022 is equal to the samples analyzed over the four epidemic periods preceding the pandemic.

Aims: To study the characteristics and the impact of the pandemic on NH residents and professionals over 2 years.
Methods: Cross-sectional study of COVID-19 clusters among residents and/or professionals in NH, from March 2020 to February 2022, in Normandy, France.
Objectives: We aimed to evaluate the association between proton pump inhibitor (PPI) exposure and nosocomial infection (NI) during PICU stay.
Design: Propensity score matched analysis of a single-center retrospective cohort from January 1, 2017, to December 31, 2018.
Setting: Tertiary medical and surgical PICU in France.
Background: Health care workers (HCWs) are particularly exposed to COVID-19 and therefore it is important to study preventive measures in this population.
Aim: To investigate socio-demographic factors and professional practice associated with the risk of COVID-19 among HCWs in health establishments in Normandy, France.
Methods: A cross-sectional and 3 case-control studies using bootstrap methods were conducted in order to explore the possible risk factors that lead to SARS-CoV2 transmission within HCWs.
Introduction: In the early phase of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) epidemic in France, knowledge of SARS-COV-2 characteristics was limited, and personal protective equipment (PPE) was lacking. Thus, health care workers (HCWs) were exposed to nosocomial transmission.
Methods: A multicenter regional descriptive study of fifty-two heath care facilities covering 30,533 HCWs in western Normandy, France, from March 3 to March 27, 2020, before the incidence threshold of 10/100,000 inhabitants was crossed in the study area.

Introduction: Maternal underweight (BMI < 18.5) is an uncommon situation with potentially serious obstetric consequences, though data in the literature are scarce.
Objective: To compare the obstetrical prognosis of patients with normal BMI and BMI < 18.
Rationale, Aims, And Objectives: The objective was to measure the quality of clinical practice for the management of cystitis in adult women in general practice by collaborating with quality circles and the regional centre for antibiotic counsel.
Method: This descriptive cross-sectional study was performed in 2018 in Normandy, France. A questionnaire composed of clinical vignettes was used to evaluate practices of general practitioners (GPs) with regard to cystitis classified into four categories: simple, at risk of complication, recurrent, and caused by multidrug-resistant bacteria.

Introduction: Obesity is currently not a medical indication for elective induction of labor although obese patients may not be eligible for expectant management after 41 W G. Few data on labor and complications in this population undergoing prolonged pregnancy are known. The objective of our study was to evaluate labor, mode of delivery, maternal and fetal outcomes in prolonged pregnancy in obese patients compared to normal body mass index (BMI).

Their increasing incidence and frequent recurrence make them an urgent public health threat. The lack of adherence to international treatment guidelines for Clostridioides difficile infections is a proven mortality risk factor.

Methods: This study included all consecutive cases of candidaemia identified from January 2012 to December 2015 in a French University Hospital. Data were collected retrospectively for a period of 2 years before implementation of the AFSP, and prospectively for 2 years after.
Background: Seasonal influenza has a major individual and collective impact, especially among the elderly living in nursing homes. To prevent infection by influenza viruses, vaccination of residents and professionals is an essential measure. However, while the vaccination rates of residents are generally high (>85%), rates among professionals are generally approximately 20%.

Introduction: Uterine rupture in the healthy uterus is a rare obstetrical complication, not much suspected and with badly identified risk factors. Thus, there exists frequent delay for treatment and therefore fetal-maternal important morbidity and mortality. This article describes clinical signs and symptoms, management, and maternal and neonatal prognosis of uterine rupture.

This study aimed to identify the main groups contributing to local variations in the rates of Caesarean sections.
Material And Methods: A descriptive multicentric study was conducted in 13 maternity units of a French perinatal network.

Objectives: To describe the practice of fetal and placental pathological examinations in a large series of spontaneous stillbirths over 10 years.
Materials And Methods: Inclusion of cases recorded by the Lower Normandy Regional Fetal-Infant Mortality Observatory (observatoire régional de mortalité fœto-infantile) from January 1, 2005 to December 31, 2014. The possible cause of death was coded in accordance with the ReCoDe classification system.

Background: Patient fallbacks occur when a patient treated in a satellite dialysis unit (SDU) must be transferred to an in-center dialysis unit. Fallbacks have an impact on the in-center dialysis unit organization. This study was carried out to estimate the incidence and risk factors of patient fallback.

Objectives: To evaluate the rate and circumstances of outborn deliveries within a French perinatal network, and to determine their avoidability.
Study Design: Cohort study including preterm infants <33 weeks gestation and/or weighing <1500g born outside a level III maternity unit in Lower Normandy region, France, in 2008-2010. In 2008 and 2009, only neonates transferred to the Caen University Teaching Hospital (CHU) were included.
This chapter provides a set of indicators on incident patients with renal replacement therapy. In 2011, in 25 French regions (99% population), 9 248 patients started a treatment by dialysis (incidence of dialysis: 149 per million inhabitants) and 334 patients with a pre-emptive graft without previous dialysis (incidence of pre-emptive graft: 5 per million inhabitants). One patient among two are over 70 years old at renal replacement therapy initiation.
