The coinfection of CMV and has rarely been reported, particularly with solely severe gastrointestinal bleeding.

The present study explored a new role of CD46 in facilitating cancer cell invasion and metastasis, examining its regulatory effect on matrix metalloproteases (MMPs) and their effect on the metastatic capability of bladder cancer cells.

A series of new fluorinated dihydrofurano-napthoquinone compounds were sucessfully synthesized in good yields using microwave-assisted multi-component reactions of 2-hydroxy-1,4-naphthoquinone, fluorinated aromatic aldehydes, and pyridinium bromide. The products were fully characterized using spectroscopic techniques and evaluated for their anti-inflammatory activity using lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated RAW264.7 macrophage cells.

Awareness, referral and age at Kasai surgery for biliary atresia in Europe: A survey of the Quality-of-Care Task Force of ESPGHAN.

Objectives: To identify infants with biliary atresia (BA), European Society of Paediatric Gastroenteroloy and Nutrition (ESPGHAN)/North American Society of Pediatric Gastroenteroloy and Nutrition (NASPGHAN) guidelines recommend measurement of conjugated/direct bilirubin in infants with prolonged jaundice and using a stool colour card (SCC). The 'Quality of Care' Task Force of ESPGHAN performed two surveys to assess current case finding for BA and age at Kasai portoenterostomy (KPE).

Methods: The first survey approached 26 European hepatology centres to report age at referral and age at KPE of all infants diagnosed with BA from 2015 to 2019.

The Galerkin-Vlasov approach based on the improved first-order shear deformation theory (i-FSDT) and nonlocal elasticity theory are proposed to investigate the free vibration response of variable-thickness fluid-infiltrated porous metal foam (FPMF) nanoplates with flexoelectricity effect resting on Pasternak elastic foundation in the hygro-thermal environment. The FPMF nanoplate thickness varies according to both the length and width directions. The novelty of the present work is to consider the influence of the nonlocal's spatial variation and flexoelectric coefficients on the free vibration behavior of the nanoplates.

Extracting lignin from sugarcane bagasse for methylene blue and hexavalent chromium adsorption in textile wastewater: a facile, green, and sustainable approach.

This study presents the process of extracting lignin from sugarcane bagasse collected in the Mekong Delta, Vietnam by the alkali method. NaOH has been used as an effective, environmentally friendly chemical to enhance the extraction process. The obtained lignin was applied for methylene blue (MB) and hexavalent chromium (Cr(vi)) removal.

Anthropometric assessment: ESPGHAN quality of care survey from paediatric hospitals in 28 European countries.

Objectives: Assessment of anthropometric data is essential for paediatric healthcare. We surveyed the implementation of European Society of Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (ESPGHAN) evidence-based guidelines and practical recommendations on nutritional care, particularly regarding anthropometric measurements.

Methods: Paediatric hospitals from 28 European countries provided pseudonymized data through online questionnaires on hospital characteristics and their standards of nutritional care.

A large-scale MIMO antenna system for 5G IoT applications.

A multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) antenna system with low-profile and small element spacing characteristics is presented in this paper. This antenna contains multiple elements arranged in both E-plane and H-plane configurations. The original strong coupling between the MIMO elements can be suppressed by exciting orthogonal operating modes.

Reducing Self-Assembly by Increasing Net Charge: Effect on Biological Activity of Mastoparan C.

The ability of amphipathic peptides to arrange themselves in aqueous solutions, known as self-assembly, has been found to reduce the effectiveness of these peptides in interacting with cell membranes. Therefore, minimizing their tendency to self-assemble could be a potential strategy for enhancing the pharmacological properties of antimicrobial peptides (AMPs). To explore this idea, this study prepared a series of natural peptides () with increased net charge and hydrophilicity via alanine-to-lysine substitution and investigated the impact on the biological activity.

Synthesis, molecular docking analysis and evaluation of new heterocyclic hybrids of 4-aza-podophyllotoxin as potent cytotoxic agents.

Two different synthetic approaches to novel heterocyclic hybrid compounds of 4-azapodophyllotoxin were investigated. The obtained products were characterized by infrared spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, and high-resolution mass spectrometry. MTT protocol was then performed to examine the cytotoxic activity of these products against KB, HepG2, A549, MCF7, and Hek-293 cell lines.

Single-Port Multiport Robot-Assisted Partial Nephrectomy: A Meta-Analysis.

Several centers have reported their experience with single-port robot-assisted partial nephrectomy (SP-RAPN); however, it is uncertain if utilization of this platform represents an improvement in outcomes compared to multiport robot-assisted partial nephrectomy (MP-RAPN). To evaluate this, we performed a meta-analysis to compare the perioperative, oncological, and functional outcomes between SP-RAPN and MP-RAPN. For relevant articles, three electronic databases, including PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science, were searched from their inception until January 1, 2023.

Modified Coprecipitation Synthesis of Nickel-Rich NMC (LiNiMnCoO) for Lithium-Ion Batteries: A Simple, Cost-Effective, Environmentally Friendly Method.

Gender, homelessness, hospitalization and methamphetamine use fuel depression among people who inject drugs: implications for innovative prevention and care strategies.

Background: The co-occurrence of substance use disorder and mental disorder, known as dual diagnosis, has a distressingly high prevalence among individuals grappling with either of these conditions. Mood disorders, especially depression, constitute a substantial burden for People Who Inject Drugs (PWID) and a significant public health concern in Vietnam. Identifying risk factors for depression in PWID is imperative for the development of targeted interventions.

Pediatric IBD Patients Treated With Infliximab and Proactive Drug Monitoring Benefit From Early Concomitant Immunomodulatory Therapy: A Retrospective Analysis of a 10-Year Real-Life Cohort.

Background: Limited approval of second-line treatments in pediatric inflammatory bowel disease (pIBD) necessitates optimized use of infliximab (IFX) with proactive therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM). We investigated whether early combo-therapy with an immunomodulator (IMM) provides additional benefit.

Methods: In the retrospectively reviewed medical records of all children treated with IFX and proactive TDM between 2013 and 2022, IMMearly (IMM ≤3 months since IFX start) was evaluated against IMMother/no (late/short or no IMM) over follow-up of 3 to 60 months.
