Drought is a reoccurring natural phenomenon that presents significant challenges to agricultural production, ecosystem stability, and water resource management. The Central Highlands of Vietnam, a major region of industrial crops and vegetation ecosystems, has become increasingly vulnerable to drought impacts. Despite this vulnerability, limited research has explored the specific characteristics of drought and its seasonal effects on vegetation ecosystems in the region.

However, seafood has a high risk of contamination from harmful microorganisms and marine toxins which can cause health problems for humans consuming it. Concerning this issue, monitoring seafood safety has become a center of attention for researchers, and developing effective methods for detecting contamination in seafood has become a critical research field.

The coinfection of CMV and has rarely been reported, particularly with solely severe gastrointestinal bleeding.

Despite their popularity, there are many challenges associated with the evaluation of participatory projects. Here we describe an evaluation of a community-based participatory research study of underserved communities in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC), Vietnam at risk for hepatitis C virus.

However, PHPs have received insufficient attention in terms of training and capacity building, especially in the remote areas of low-to-middle-income countries. This study evaluated the effectiveness of a first-aid training program for PHPs on a Vietnamese island and explored their perspectives and experiences regarding first-aid implementation.

However, in the complex landscape of healthcare, nurses in Vietnam face various ethical issues and challenges that may impede their ability to protect patient rights effectively, necessitating tools for better ethical decision-making and practice.
Purpose: This study aims to translate the Nurses' Ethical Behaviours for Protecting Patient Rights Scale (NEBPPR) into Vietnamese and evaluate the validity and reliability of the V-NEBPPRS.
Objectives: α-thalassemia is an autosomal recessive monogenic blood disorder, affecting up to 5% of the world's population. The occurrence rate of the disease in Vietnam varies up to up to 51.5%, with high rate of mutation carriers, of couples consisting of two carriers at risk of bearing a child with fetal Hb Bart, which can develop into hydrops fetalis syndrome, threatening the well-being of the mother and the child.

Yet, little is known about antibiotic removal in tidal flow constructed wetlands (TFCWs) under salinity stress, especially considering TFCW constitution, configuration, and influent water characteristics. Here, the removal performance and mechanism of different TFCWs for sulfonamide antibiotics (SAs: sulfadiazine, sulfamethazine, sulfamonomethoxine, and sulfamethoxazole) and trimethoprim (TMP) from mariculture wastewater (with low, medium, and high salinity) were evaluated alongside comparisons of environmental factors and microbial responses.

Durian, a member of the Malvaceae family, is famous for its delicious fruits, which have strong scents and are rich in nutrients. In this study, we sequenced and characterized the complete chloroplast genome of L. 1774 cultivar Ri6, a popular durian cultivar in Vietnam, using the Illumina Hiseq platform.

This research aimed to investigate the anti-ultraviolet, antibacterial, and biofilm eradication activities of both the melanins and arginine-modified melanin (melanin derivatives) from these two fungi against an acne-causing bacterium (). Apart from these, the cytotoxicity of the melanins and melanin derivatives on human skin cells was also evaluated.

Therefore, minimizing their tendency to self-assemble could be a potential strategy for enhancing the pharmacological properties of antimicrobial peptides (AMPs). To explore this idea, this study prepared a series of natural peptides () with increased net charge and hydrophilicity via alanine-to-lysine substitution and investigated the impact on the biological activity.

In a previous study, we demonstrated that the use of cascara as a substrate results in a special kombucha beverage with high bioactivity. Traditional kombucha fermentation using a symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast (SCOBY) can lead to inconsistent product quality because of the lack of control over microbial composition.

Under these stress conditions, photosynthesis is greatly suppressed despite the high cellular energy cost of stress response processes. Currently, the process that allows plants to secure the energy required for osmotic stress responses remains elusive.

The current limitation of ancient DNA data from Vietnam led to the controversy surrounding the prehistory of people in this region. The combination of high heat and humidity damaged ancient bones that challenged the study of human evolution, especially when using DNA as study materials. So far, only 4 k years of history have been recorded despite the 65 k years of history of anatomically modern human occupations in Vietnam.

We aimed to provide a cross-culturally relevant and validated instrument to assess evidence-based geriatric knowledge among healthcare providers in Vietnam.
Methods: We translated the Knowledge about Older Patients Quiz from English to Vietnamese using cross-cultural adaptation methods.
Objective: The study aimed to evaluate the role of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in differentiating between primary benign and malignant soft tissue tumors (STTs).
Patients And Methods: The study was carried out on 110 patients with histopathological diagnoses of STTs. All patients underwent routine MRI before surgery/biopsy at Viet Duc University Hospital or Vietnam National Cancer Hospital, Hanoi, Vietnam, from January 2020 to October 2022.
To assess sex disparities in tuberculosis in Vietnam, we conducted a nested, case-control study based on a 2017 tuberculosis prevalence survey. We defined the case group as all survey participants with laboratory-confirmed tuberculosis and the control group as a randomly selected group of participants with no tuberculosis. We used structural equation modeling to describe pathways from sex to tuberculosis according to an a priori conceptual framework.

However, inappropriate healthcare contributes to health disparities between populations of aging people and leads to care dependency and social isolation. Tools to assess and evaluate the effectiveness of quality improvement interventions for geriatric care in LMICs are limited.
