-cinnamoyltyramine (NTCT) has been identified from an allelopathic Vietnamese rice accession OM 5930. This study employed bioassays to analyze NTCT's effects on shoot and root growth of multiple test and weed species. NTCT demonstrated potent inhibitory effects on cress, lettuce, canola, palmer amaranth, timothy, barnyardgrass, red sprangletop, and weedy rice, with increasing concentrations leading to substantial reductions in growth in all species.

Natural adjuvants have recently garnered interest in the field of vaccinology as their immunostimulatory effects. In this study, we aimed to investigate the potential use of Peyssonnelia caulifera (PC), a marine alga, as a natural adjuvant for an inactivated split A/Puerto Rico/8/1934 H1N1 influenza vaccine (sPR8) in a murine model. We administered PC-adjuvanted vaccines to a murine model via intramuscular prime and boost vaccinations, and subsequently analyzed the induced immunological responses, particularly the production of antigen-specific IgG1 and IgG2a antibodies, memory T and B cell responses, and the protective efficacy against a lethal viral infection.

Recently, searching for a metal-semiconductor junction (MSJ) that exhibits low-contact resistance has received tremendous consideration, as they are essential components in next-generation field-effect transistors. In this work, we design a MSJ by integrating two-dimensional (2D) graphene as the metallic electrode and 2D Janus γ-GeSSe as the semiconducting channel using first-principles simulations. All the graphene/γ-GeSSe MSJs are predicted to be energetically, mechanically, and thermodynamically stable, characterized by the weak van der Waals (vdW) interactions.

Macroporous niobium-doped tin oxide (NTO) is introduced as a robust alternative to conventional carbon-based catalyst supports to improve the durability and performance of polymer electrolyte fuel cells (PEFCs). Efficient drug delivery is crucial for the creation of effective pharmaceutical treatments, and polyethylene glycol (PEG) carriers have been emerged as promising candidates for this purpose due to their bio-compatibility, enhancement of drug solubility, and stability. In this study, we utilized molecular simulations to examine the interactions between PEG carriers and selected drug molecules extracted from Celastrus hindsii: Hindsiilactone A, Hindsiiquinoflavan B, Maytenfolone A, and Celasdin B. The simulations provided detailed insights into the binding affinity, stability, and structural properties of these drug molecules when complexed with PEG carriers.

This study investigated the effects of fish protein hydrolysate derived from barramundi on growth performance, muscle composition, immune response, disease resistance, histology and gene expression in white shrimp (Penaeus vannamei). In vitro studies demonstrated FPH enhanced mRNA expressions of key immune-related genes and stimulated reactive oxygen species (ROS) production and phagocytic activity in shrimp hemocytes.
