A comprehensive search was conducted across multiple databases to identify relevant studies. Cohort studies, randomized controlled trials, and case-control studies examining the outcomes of endobronchial stent placement in patients with malignant airway obstruction were included.

A fistulous tract between the alveoli and the pleural space is referred to as an alveolar-pleural fistula (APF), whereas a fistulous tract between the bronchiole and the pleural space is referred to as a bronchopleural fistula (BPF). There is no consensus on the treatment, and multiple modalities exist for the management of persistent air leak (PAL).

Various intraluminal treatments have proven their value in palliative treatment for advanced malignancies. Nd:YAG (neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet; Nd:Y3Al5O12) laser has established its role as a major palliative intervention due to its minimal side effects and improvement in quality of life by relieving local symptoms.

In this study, we compared the effectiveness of remote hemodynamic monitoring with that of standard care in the management of patients with CHF. The remote monitoring group included 7,733 patients, and the control group included 7,567 patients.

Though most commonly seen after surgical interventions, they are increasingly reported as complications of COVID-19 infection. We present the case of an 86-year-old man with COVID-19 pneumonia and subsequent bronchopleural fistula (BPF) with persistent air leak.

They present as air-filled lung cysts that are prone to rupture and result in spontaneous pneumothoraxes. While pulmonary cysts are not uncommon, cysts presenting later in life with unclear etiology are rare and result in both a diagnostic and therapeutic challenge.

Objectives: The primary objective was to compare the incidence of thromboembolic events in adult patients with COVID-19 treated with an unfractionated heparin (UFH) infusion versus prophylactic dose anticoagulation.
Patients with antineutrophilic cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA) associated vasculitis who were on immunosuppressive therapy with corticosteroids may be susceptible to cavitary lesions. Only a few cases have been reported in the literature to date. Immunosuppression was shown to improve prognosis in patients with vasculitis.

A 60-year-old woman presented to the emergency department with worsening shortness of breath and non-productive cough for 1 week, which was preceding a recent COVID-19 infection. At the time the patient thought this was part of the constellation of symptoms of COVID-19, so she stayed home until her symptoms worsened to the point of needing hospitalization. The patient was found to have a rare and complex congenital heart disease that led her to develop acute heart failure precipitated by COVID-19 pneumonia.

In the United States, the reported incidence is approximately 500 to 1,000 cases per year, with an observed male-to-female predominance of 3:1. We present the case of a 37-year-old male with a past medical history of malaria who presented with watery, non-bloody diarrhea for four days associated with a fever for two weeks.

There is evidence that obesity-related conditions may increase the severity of COVID-19 disease, especially in those below the age of 60. However, there has been limited research on mortality rate based on body mass index (BMI) in the older adult population, defined as age over 65.
