Herein, gold nanoparticle-decorated amorphous carbon (Au/AC) was prepared by reducing chloroauric acid and layering it on amorphous carbon. The characteristics of Au/AC were examined using FT-IR, XRD, TGA, SEM, EDS, and XPS. To assess its catalytic activity, Au/AC was tested in a reaction involving anthranilamide and benzyl alcohol at 110 °C for 24 hours.

The catalytic application of 3-(4-sulfobutyl)-1-imidazole-3-ium chloride immobilized on activated silica gel (SiO-Imi-SOH) for the production of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural is described here for the first time. This material was synthesized using a three-step method involving the grafting of chloropropyl groups onto activated silica gel, the substitution of zwitterions, and the acidification of zwitterions to form silica-supported ionic liquid. The successful immobilization of the IL on silica gel was confirmed through energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX) spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and elemental mapping.

In the current study, we have developed a solid-phase extraction (SPE) method with novel C18-alkylimidazolium ionic liquid immobilized silica (SiO-(CH)-Im-C) for the preconcentration of trace heavy metals from aqueous samples as a prior step to their determination by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICPMS). The material was characterized by Fourier-transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA), Energy-Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDS), and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) analysis. A mini-column packed with SiO-(CH)-Im-C sorbent was used for the extraction of the metal ions complexed with 1-(2-pyridylazo)-2-naphthol (PAN) from the water sample.

In this study, we have developed the synthesis of thieno[2,3-]indole dyes a multicomponent reaction of cheap and available reagents such as sulfur, acetophenones, and indoles using a magnetic nanoparticle-supported [Urea][ZnCl] deep eutectic solvent as a green catalyst. The synthesis of a series of diversely functionalized thieno[2,3-]indole has been successfully performed in a one-pot reaction. Among a total of 25 compounds synthesized, there are 21 new compounds with full characterization such as FT-IR, H and C NMR, HRMS (ESI).

A mild and highly efficient reaction for the synthesis of 2,4,5-trisubstituted and 1,2,4,5-tetrasubstituted imidazoles catalyzed by a magnetically supported Lewis acidic deep eutectic solvent on magnetic nanoparticles (LADES@MNP) has been developed one-pot multicomponent processes under solvent-free sonication. These reactions have good to excellent yields, mild conditions, and work-up simplicity. This method represents a new method for the preparation of 2,4,5-trisubstituted and 1,2,4,5-tetrasubstituted imidazoles.

We report here the preparation of 2-hydroxy-5-iodo-'-(1-arylethylidene)benzohydrazide compounds in good to excellent yields (83-98%) within a short reaction time (10-15 min), through a clean and efficient procedure. Seventeen new compounds were synthesized and fully characterized by FT-IR, NMR, and HRMS. The deep eutectic solvent can be recovered easily by phase extraction and can be reused up to several times without any significant loss of catalytic activity.

Herein, we introduce a reusable Brønsted acidic ionic liquid gel (BAIL gel) obtained by treating 1-methyl-3-(4-sulfobutyl)-1-imidazolium hydrogen sulfate with tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS). The grafting of the Brønsted acidic ionic liquid to the surface of TEOS has increased the catalytic activity of the material and also simplified catalyst recovery from the reaction mixture. This reaction has a wide substrate scope, and the BAIL gel represents a new catalyst for the synthesis of benzoxazoles, benzimidazoles, and benzothiazoles.
