Immunohistochemical expression in idiopathic inflammatory myopathies at a single center in Vietnam.

Background: The identification of idiopathic inflammatory myopathies (IIMs) requires a comprehensive analysis involving clinical manifestations and histological findings. This study aims to provide insights into the histopathological and immunohistochemical aspects of IIMs.

Methods: This retrospective case series involved 56 patients diagnosed with IIMs at the Department of Pathology, University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City, from 2019 to 2023.

Concordance of Clinical, Histologic and Direct Immunofluorescence Findings in Patients with Autoimmune Bullous Dermatoses in Vietnam.

Introduction: Autoimmune bullous dermatoses (ABD) represent a heterogeneous group of blistering disorders that may be debilitating with high morbidity. Clinical, histological, and direct immunofluorescence (DIF) studies are essential in establishing an accurate diagnosis of ABD, which is essential for its clinical management. Our study objective was to perform a systematic evaluation of ABD cases in a patient population at an academic medical center in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and determine the degree of concordance of clinical, histological, and DIF findings in ABD.

This study investigated the clinical pathology and immunohistochemical distinction between adult and pediatric large B-cell lymphoma. Bilateral adrenal masses due to tuberculosis: how to diagnose without extra-adrenal tuberculosis.

Summary: Primary adrenal insufficiency is a rare disease and can masquerade as other conditions; therefore, it is sometimes incorrectly diagnosed. Herein, we reported the case of a 39-year-old Vietnamese male with primary adrenal insufficiency due to bilateral adrenal tuberculosis. The patient presented to the emergency room with acute adrenal crisis and a 3-day history of nausea, vomiting, epigastric pain, and diarrhoea with a background of 6 months of fatigue, weight loss, and anorexia.

Diagnostic value of rectal suction biopsies using calretinin immunohistochemical staining in Hirschsprung's disease.

Background: The study investigates the diagnostic value of calretinin immunohistochemical staining (CIS) on rectal suction biopsies (RSB) in Hirschsprung's disease (HD).

Methods: A prospective study was conducted at Children's Hospital 2 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, from January through December 2015. Patients suspected of HD during this period underwent RSB and were followed in order to assess the accuracy of the diagnostic test with CIS compared with conventional histology (H&E).
