Effects of 8-Year Treatment of Long-Acting Testosterone Undecanoate on Metabolic Parameters, Urinary Symptoms, Bone Mineral Density, and Sexual Function in Men With Late-Onset Hypogonadism.

Introduction: The long-term effects of long-acting testosterone undecanoate (TU) and androgen receptor CAG repeat lengths in Thai men with late-onset hypogonadism (LOH) have not been reported.

Aim: To analyze the 8-year follow-up effects of intramuscular TU therapy on metabolic parameters, urinary symptoms, bone mineral density, and sexual function and investigate CAG repeat lengths in men with LOH.

Methods: We reviewed the medical records of 428 men with LOH who had been treated with TU and 5 patients were diagnosed with prostate cancer during TU therapy.

Common sites of infection are the arteries, eyes, cutaneous/subcutaneous tissues, and gastrointestinal tract. Diagnosis of pythiosis is time-consuming and difficult.

Cystinuria: cause of recurrent renal stones in a 4-year-old girl.

This paper presents the case report of a 4-year and 6-month old girl with cystinuria. She clinically presented with recurrent radiopaque renal stones since the age of 3 years. She received 2 subsequent operations of pyelolithotomy combined with ureterolithotomy at the age of 3 years 6 months, and pyelolithotomy alone at the age of 5 years.

The optimal dose of potassium citrate in the treatment of children with distal renal tubular acidosis.

Background: Distal renal tubular acidosis (RTA) is a common cause of intractable calcium nephrolithiasis. In adults, the use of potassium citrate (PC) in distal RTA effectively decreases metabolic acidosis and the risk of calcium oxalate stone but it cannot decrease the risk of calcium phosphate stone. However, there is no report for the optimal dose of PC and the risk of calcium stone in distal RTA in children.
