Introduction: Most hospitalized patients required invasive or non-invasive ventilation and High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC). Therefore, this study was conducted to describe the characteristics of patients with severe Coronavirus Disease-2019 (COVID-19) treated by HFNC and its effectiveness for reducing the rate of intubated-mechanical ventilation in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Phu Chanh COVID-19 Department-Binh Duong General Hospital.

Methods: It was a cross-sectional and descriptive study.

Breast cancer is a prominent cause of death among women worldwide. Infrared thermography, due to its cost-effectiveness and non-ionizing radiation, has emerged as a promising tool for early breast cancer diagnosis. This article presents a hybrid model approach for breast cancer detection using thermography images, designed to process and classify these images into healthy or cancerous categories, thus supporting disease diagnosis.

The heavy metal pollution is a serious environmental pollution around the globe and threatens the ecosystem. The physicochemical traits (pH, Electrical conductivity, hardness, NPK, Al, Fe, Cd, Cr, Pb, Mg, and Mn) of soil sample collected from the polluted site were analyzed and found that the most of the metal contents were beyond the acceptable limits of national standards. The metals such as Mn (1859.

Mining is one of the major contributors for land degradation and severe heavy metals based soil pollution. In this study, the physicochemical properties of magnesite mine soil was investigated and assess the optimistic and eco-friendly remediation approach with Hibiscus rosa-sinensis with the effect of pre-isolated Acidithiobacillus thiooxidans. The physicochemical properties analysis results revealed that most the parameter were either too less or beyond the permissible limits.

Introduction: The fourth outbreak of COVID-19 with the delta variant in Vietnam was very fierce due to the limited availability of vaccines and the lack of healthcare resources. During that period, the high mortality of patients with severe and critical COVID-19 caused many concerns for the health system, especially the intensive care units. This study aimed to analyze the predictive factors of death and survival in patients with severe and critical COVID-19.

The starch is one of the most essential food stuff and serves as a raw material for number of food products for the welfare of human. During the production process enormous volume of effluents are being released into the environment. In this regard, this study was performed to evaluate the physicochemical traits of Manihot esculenta processing effluent and possible sustainable approach to treat this issue using Eichhornia crassipes based biochar.

Petroleum-based polymers have raised significant environmental concerns. It is critical to create compostable, good biocompatibility, and nontoxic polymers to replace petroleum-based polymers. Thus, this research was performed to extract the gelatin from fish waste cartilage and coated it over the surface of spherical shaped pre-synthesized ZnNPs along with a suitable plasticizer to produce the biodegradable film.

As 3D-printed (3DP) patterns are solid and durable, they can be used to create thin wall castings, which is complicated with wax patterns because of the wax's fragility and high shrinkage ratio. According to this study's experiment results, polylactic acid (PLA), polyvinyl butyral (PVB), and castable wax (CW) are suitable materials for preparing investment casting (IC) cavities. The results indicate that the casting product with the highest-quality surface is obtained using a cavity prepared using a CW-printed pattern.

The severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) pandemic has been an alarming situation worldwide for the past 2 years. The symptoms of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) are not only confined to the respiratory system but also affect a multitude of organ systems. Bradycardia associated with Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) is a rare autonomic and peripheral neurological complication of COVID-19.

This study aims at the transformation of the waste lignocellulosic biomass, Simarouba glauca seed shell obtained from biofuel industries, into a value-added adsorbent for the removal of dyes from aqueous media. The basic dye direct red (DR) 12B was adsorbed using chemically (ZnCl) and thermally activated Simarouba seed shell carbon (ZASRC and SRC, respectively). Dye removal in batch mode was studied by evaluating adsorbent dosage, contact time, pH, adsorption isotherm and kinetics.

In a desperate attempt to find organic alternatives to synthetic fertilizers, agricultural scientists are increasingly using biochar as a soil amendment. Using chemical fertilizers results in enormous financial burdens and chronic health problems for plants and soils. Global concerns have also increased over the prolonged consumption of foods grown with artificial fertilizers and growth promotors.

Since the first case of Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS)-associated SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) infection reported in 2020, a series of cases have been published in some countries. In this case report, we present a young patient with GBS, whose clinical and laboratory data were appropriate for the diagnosis of GBS due to COVID-19 infection. Neurological examination revealed the muscular weakness of lower limbs with Medical Research Council (MRC) scale of 2/5 associated with diminished reflexes.

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) or coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), has uncontrollable effects on many organs. A great number of previously published scientific reports have revealed that patients with diabetes mellitus face a more severe form of Covid-19 with a higher death rate. Here we present the case of a 13-year-old unvaccinated boy who was admitted to an intensive care unit (ICU) with a history of fever, cough, dyspnea, throat pain, nausea, and confusion that progressed to lethargy after 24 h.

A 27-year-old woman at 17 weeks gestation was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) with a history of fever, dyspnea, and dry cough for 3 days. She was diagnosed with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) based on her nasopharyngeal swab polymerase chain reaction (PCR) that was positive for severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). In the ICU, the patient developed acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and increased levels of inflammatory markers.

This research was performed to evaluate the silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) fabricating potential of aqueous shoot extract of Aristolochia bracteolata and also assess the free radicals scavenging potential of synthesized AgNPs. The results obtained from this study showed that the aqueous shoot extract of A. bracteolata has the potential to synthesize the AgNPs and it was initially confirmed by color change in the reaction blend as yellow to dark brownish.
