Introduction: N95 respirators, together with eye protection, form vital elements of personal protective equipment (PPE) for healthcare workers (HCW) caring for patients with respiratory infections, such as COVID-19. Duckbill N95 respirators are widely used but have a high failure rate when Fit Tested. The commonest site for inward leaks is the region between the nose and maxilla.

Unlabelled: N95 respirators and safety goggles are important components of personal protective equipment to reduce the spread of airborne infections, such as COVID-19, among healthcare workers. Poor N95 respirator seal may reduce its protective effect, thereby increasing transmission. Quantitative fit testing is an established way of assessing the N95 respirator fit, which provides a quantitative measure for seal, called the fit factor.

Aim And Objective: Fogging of eyeglasses while wearing N95 respirators is common. It is commonly held that the N95 respirator has a poor fit if there is fogging of eyeglasses. We conducted this prospective, pilot study to determine if fogging of eyeglasses predicts poor fit of N95 respirator.

Background: Painful vertebral compression fractures (VCFs) in myeloma patients severely reduce quality of life. Currently, the International Myeloma Working Group (IMWG) and National Institute of Clinical Excellence NICE advocate the use of either balloon kyphoplasty or vertebroplasty in the management of these fractures.

Methods: All patients with VCFs and myeloma who adhered to the IMWG indications for vertebral augmentation were treated with the Osseofix implant.

Nanoformulation based drug delivery is one of the most important research areas in the field of nanomedicine, which provides promising alternatives to the limitations of conventional chemotherapy. Nano drug delivery enables improved pharmacokinetic profile, bioavailability and therapeutic efficiency compared to the regular chemotherapeutic drugs. Herein, we have established a simple method for the synthesis of docetaxel (Dtx) encapsulated poly (ethylene glycol) (PEG) functionalized gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) for targeted drug delivery to prostate cancer.

The effective use of the gold nanoparticle (AuNPs) conjugated drugs for targeted drug delivery applications is one of the most promising research areas in the field of cancer. Herein, we aimed to establish a nano drug conjugated with docetaxel as a possible therapy option. Gold nanoparticles were synthesized by chemical reduction method.

Yellow lupin polysaccharides (YLP-1, YLP-2 and YLP-3) were isolated from the whole seeds of Lupinus luteus L. Their antioxidant activities were evaluated by ABTS and hydroxyl radical scavenging, and Fe chelating assays. Immunostimulatory activities were measured by their ability to activate macrophages to produce TNF-α and NO.

Cancer is the second leading causes of death worldwide and it is one of the fatal diseases that kill millions of people every year. It is characterized by uncontrolled proliferation of cells and loss of apoptosis that generates an abnormal mass of cells or tumors. Prostate cancer (PCa) is one of the most common cancers in men and the risk is higher over the age of 55-65.

Background: Carcinoma of the prostate gland (PCa) is one of the most commonly diagnosed cancer diseases among men around the world. PCa has become the major considerable health and epidemic problem which causes death in men with a high prevalence and relatively lower mortality risk. The inability of conventional diagnosis tools to detect cancer at an early and potentially curable stage further hinders effective treatment options and spur demand for improved technologies.

Background: Proximal phalangeal fractures are common fractures of the hand. The fractures are difficult to treat because of vicinity of two important joints and crossing long tendons. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of nail traction technique in the management of proximal phalangeal fractures of the hand.

Aim: Reconstructing or augmenting the lumbo-pelvic junction after resection of L5 and part of the sacrum is challenging. Numerous lumbo-pelvic reconstruction methods based on posterior construct and anterior cages have been proposed for cases involving total sacrectomy and lumbar vertebrectomy. These constructs create long lever arms and generate high cantilever forces across the lumbo-sacral junction, resulting in implant failure or breakage.

Purpose Of Study: To describe a simple and reliable method of intra-operative localisation of thoracic spine in a single surgical setting. Intra-operative localisation of thoracic spine levels can be difficult due to anatomical constraints, such as scapular shadow, patient's size and poor bone quality. This is particularly true in cases of thoracic discectomies in which the vertebral bodies appear normal.

Study Design: Technical report on the surgical technique of asymmetric osteotomy of the spine for coronal imbalance.

Objective: To describe a successful method of performing asymmetrical pedicle subtraction osteotomy (APSO) through a posterior only approach.

Summary Of Background: Rigid coronal deformity of the spine can be sharply angulated and can create significant coronal imbalance.

Summary Of Background Data: The sagittal profile of lumbar endplates is discrepant from current simplified disc replacement and fusion device design. Endplate concavity is symmetrical in the coronal plane but shows considerable variability in the sagittal plane, which may lead to implant-endplate mismatch.

Objective: The aim of this investigation is to provide further analysis of the sagittal endplate morphology of the mid to lower lumbar spine study (L3–S1), thereby identifying the presence of common endplate shape patterns across these levels and providing morphological reference values complementing the findings of previous studies.
