Introduction: The patient's evolution in the audiology and speech-language clinic acts as a motivator of the therapeutic process, contributing to patient adherence to the treatment and allowing the therapist to review and/or maintain their clinical therapeutic conducts. Electrophysiological measures, such as the P300 evoked potential, help in the evaluation, understanding and monitoring of human communication disorders, thus facilitating the prognosis definition in each case.

Objective: To determine whether the audiology and speech-language therapy influences the variation of P300 latency and amplitude in patients with speech disorders undergoing speech therapy.

Purpose: To characterize the performance of a group of preschool children with phonological disorder in metaphonological tasks of identification and production of rhyme and alliteration.

Methods: Participants were 56 preschool children of both genders, with ages between 4 years and 0 months and 6 years and 11 months, distributed into: Research Group, comprising 28 preschoolers with phonological disorder, and Comparison Group, comprising 28 preschool children with normal speech and no complaints related to oral communication. The following testes were applied: Child Language Test ABFW - Phonology, tasks of identification and product ion of rhymes and alliteration of the Phonological Awareness Test: Instrument of Sequential Assessment - CONFIAS.

Background: The appearance of the praxis disorder during the first years of development has been frequently designated as childhood apraxia of speech. The present theoretical perspectives direct the speech therapist to new tendencies regarding therapeutic intervention.
