- The study tested the antimycobacterial activity of several compounds derived from cubebin and hinokinin against different strains of Mycobacterium, including M. tuberculosis, M. kansasii, and M. avium.
- Among these, hinokinin (2) had a minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of 62.5 microg/mL against M. tuberculosis, while derivatives (-)-O-acetyl-cubebin (3) and (-)-O-methyl-cubebin (4) showed 62.5 and 31.25 microg/mL MIC values against M. avium, respectively.
