Inborn errors of immunity (IEI) are a group of inherited conditions caused by damaged monogenic variants that result in impairment and/or dysregulation within the immune system. IEI are typically diagnosed in infancy or early childhood, with clinical presentations that include increased susceptibility to infections, immune dysregulation, autoinflammation, bone marrow failure, and/or malignancy. Historically, transitions of care experienced by patients with IEI have not been well described in the literature.

Patients with hypogammaglobulinemia with recurrent infections may benefit from immunoglobulin replacement therapy (IgRT). This study evaluated patterns of immunoglobulin G (IgG) testing and the effectiveness of IgRT in real-world patients with CLL or NHL.

We sought to determine whether pre-emptive administration of pangenotypic direct-acting antiviral therapy can safely prevent the development of chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection in uninfected recipients of HCV-infected donor hearts.
Methods: Patients were recruited for this an open-label, single-centre, proof-of-concept study from Nov 1, 2017, to Nov 30, 2018.
Invasive fungal infections are a common complication in immunocompromised patients, such as organ transplant recipients. Isavuconazole is a broad-spectrum azole antifungal for the treatment of aspergillosis and mucormycosis. The package insert for isavuconazole recommends against opening the capsule for administration through enteral feeding tubes.
