In the present work, the immobilized footprint of β-glucosidase (BGL) on silica-coated iron oxide was explored to produce reusable catalysts with flexible active sites for high activity and heightened storage stability. Synthesized iron oxide particles were coated with silica and functionalized with various densities of (3-aminopropyl)triethoxysilane (APTES) to obtain particles with amine densities ranging from 0 to 3 × 10 mol/g particle. The amine-modified particles were activated with glutaraldehyde, and subsequently, BGL was immobilized using either a 0.

Bacteria communicate chemically through a system called quorum sensing. In this work, microdialysis sampling procedures were optimized to collect quorum sensing molecules produced during in situ biofilm formation directly on the polymeric semipermeable membrane of the microdialysis probe. V.

Cytokines are signaling proteins that have been of significant importance in the field of immunology, since these proteins affect different cells in the immune system. In addition to their immune system significance, these proteins have recently been referred to as a third chemical communication network within the CNS. The role that cytokines play in orchestrating the immune response within tissues after a mechanical injury leads to potential complications if the source of cytokines (i.
