We consider the one-dimensional Schrödinger equation with a random potential and study the cumulant generating function of the logarithm of the wave function ψ(x), known in the literature as the "generalized Lyapunov exponent"; this is tantamount to studying the statistics of the so-called "finite-size Lyapunov exponent." The problem reduces to that of finding the leading eigenvalue of a certain nonrandom non-self-adjoint linear operator defined on a somewhat unusual space of functions. We focus on the case of Cauchy disorder, for which we derive a secular equation for the generalized Lyapunov exponent.

The current review explores the Enhanced Rehabilitation in Surgery (ERS) approach in the specific context of gynecological surgery. Implementation of an ERS protocol in gynecological surgery reduces postoperative complications and length of stay without increasing morbidity. An ERS approach is based on maintaining an adequate diet and hydration before the operation, according to the recommended time frame, to reduce the phenomenon of insulin resistance, and to optimize patient comfort.

Objective: To examine the role of CD40-CD154 costimulation and effects of therapeutic pathway blockade in the non-obese diabetic (NOD/ShiLtJ) model of Sjögren's syndrome (SS).

Methods: We assessed leucocyte infiltration in salivary glands (SGs) from NOD/ShiLtJ mice by immunohistochemistry and examined transcriptomics data of SG tissue from these animals for evidence of a CD40 pathway gene signature. Additionally, we dosed MR1 (anti-CD154 antibody) in NOD mice after the onset of SS-like disease and examined the effects of MR1 treatment on sialadenitis, autoantibody production, SG leucocyte infiltration, gene expression downstream of CD40 and acquaporin 5 (AQP5) expression.

Microsporidia are parasitic fungi-like organisms that invade the interior of living cells and cause chronic disorders in a broad range of animals, including humans. We study the dynamics of a tagged monomer of a Rouse polymer for different initial configurations. In the case of free evolution, the monomer displays subdiffusive behavior with strong memory of the initial state. In the presence of either elastic pinning or harmonic absorption, we show that the steady state is independent of the initial condition that, however, strongly affects the transient regime, resulting in nonmonotonic behavior and power-law relaxation with varying exponents.
