Single-port laparoscopic reversal of Hartmann's procedure through the colostomy site: technical aspects and early postoperative outcomes.

Background: Single-port laparoscopic surgical approaches offer improved cosmetic outcomes and enhance recovery following surgery. The purpose of the study was to assess the reliability and efficacy of a single-port laparoscopic Hartmann's reversal(SPL-HR) through the colostomy site.

Methods: Prospective data from consecutive patients who underwent SPL-HR between 2020 and 2024 was analysed.

Pancreaticoduodenectomy in patients < 75 years versus ≥ 75 years old: a comparative study.

Objective: This study aimed to compare the postoperative outcomes of < 75-year-old patients and ≥ 75-year-old patients who underwent pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD) for pancreatic head and periampullary region tumors.

Methods: Patients who underwent PD in our hospital between February 2019 and December 2023 were evaluated. Demographics, Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group Performance Status (ECOG-PS) scores, American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) scores, comorbidities, hospital stays, complications, and clinicopathological features were analyzed.

Comparison of early and late removal of the urinary catheter after rectal cancer surgery.

Objective: This study is aiming to compare the results of early and late removal of urinary catheters after rectal cancer surgery.

Materials And Methods: Patients who undergone rectal cancer surgery in a single center were included in this prospective randomized study. The timing of the urinary catheter removal was randomized by a computer-assisted program and divided into 2 groups, which are early (first 48 h) and late (after 48 h).
