Aim: This study aims to present the clinical characteristics of patients with PFAPA syndrome, and to compare the effects of corticosteroid usage, colchicine prophylaxis, and tonsillectomy on the frequency of attacks in patients with PFAPA syndrome.
Methods: Patients aged between 6 months and 18 years presenting to our Paediatric Rheumatology clinic between 2017 and 2021 who were diagnosed with PFAPA syndrome and followed up for a minimum of 12 months were included in this study. The demographic and clinical characteristics of the patients, laboratory findings, attack durations, and treatments were recorded.
Objectives: Urinary tract infections (UTI) are the most common occult infections in infants under three months of age with high fever, caused by various pathogens, and can progress with different symptoms from mild to severe. We planned to explore and compare pathogen-specific systemic inflammatory indices, urinalysis, and radiological findings in newborns.
Methods: The retrospective study included preterm and term neonates with single pathogen growth of≥50.
Background: Hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy is a complication of adverse intrapartum events and birth asphyxia resulting in brain injury and mortality in late preterm and term newborns.
Objectives: In this study, we aimed to predict brain damage on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) with a new scoring system.
Methods: Yieldly And Scorable Holistic Measuring of Asphyxia (YASHMA) is generated for detection of brain injury in asphyxiated newborns.
