Management of cytomegalovirus reactivation in patient with immunotherapy-induced gastritis.

We present the case of a 52-year-old woman diagnosed with stage IV clear cell renal cell carcinoma who received combination of surgery and systemic therapy with nivolumab (anti-PD1) and ipilimumab (anti-CTLA-4). During treatment, patient presented oral intolerance, vomiting and abdominal pain. Computed tomography (CT) and gastroscopy (EGD) were performed, identifying findings suggestive of severe gastro-duodenitis with friability and diffuse oedema of the mucosa and deep ulcers.

Observational real world data with palbociclib associated to hormone therapy for advanced breast carcinoma.

Objective: Cyclin-dependent kinase 4/6 inhibitors have a synergistic effect  in combination with endocrine therapy. This combination is used as first and  subsequent-line treatment for advanced luminal breast carcinoma because it  increases progression-free survival. We analysed clinical course and toxicity  in patients treated with palbociclib in our hospital and determined potential  associations between these variables and clinicopathological variables.

Genetic model of transformation and neoplastic progression in laryngeal epithelium.

Background: The aim of this study was to analyze genetic alterations in the transformation-progression model of laryngeal tumors.

Methods: Copy number changes of 37 genes were analyzed by multiple ligation-dependent probe amplification (MLPA) in 94 tissue samples.

Results: In the smoker normal mucosa group TP53 loss was predominant, whereas in the precursor lesions CDKN2A loss and CDKN2D gain were most frequent.

Breast metastases as the first sign of recurrence of a cutaneous melanoma.

Malignant melanoma is the most rapidly increasing cancer in the world. Metastatic disease occurs in 20% of patients, and prognosis in these cases is poor. We report the case of a woman who presented breast metastasis as the first sign of recurrence of a melanoma.

Brain metastases in metastatic breast cancer patients receiving trastuzumab-based therapies.

Introduction: CNS metastases mean a great challenge. It has been suggested that the brain metastases incidence could be high in metastasic breast cancer patients receiving trastuzumab based-therapies.

Material And Methods: We performed a descriptive analysis of our experience in this setting.
