An Interdisciplinary Intervention Based on Prescription of Physical Activity, Diet, and Positive Mental Health to Promote Healthy Lifestyle in Patients with Obesity: A Randomized Control Trial.

This study used a multimodal approach to address the issue of obesity among individuals with a Body Mass Index (BMI) between 30 and 40 residing in a rural region of north-east Spain. A pretest-posttest model was employed in a clinical trial design, comparing an intervention group with a control group. The intervention, which lasted for a period of nine months, was based on three main strategies: the prescription of physical activity, the promotion of healthy nutritional habits, and the management of emotional wellbeing through Positive Mental Health (PMH).

Background: Patient-centred care must consider service consumers' needs and improve their health and well-being as well as their satisfaction and the quality of their healthcare assistance. Background: Considering the prognosis of femur fractures worldwide, the ageing of our society, and the problems in adherence to treatment found in these patients, it is believed that mobile health can have a positive impact on the process and quality of care.

Objective: We aim to evaluate the effectiveness of a pharmacological educational nurse intervention with Myplan app with regard to knowledge, adherence to pharmacological treatment, and positive mental health of patients with femur fractures.

Methods: A nonrandomized, quasi-experimental study will be carried out with a pretest-posttest control group.

(1) Background: The link between lifestyle behaviors and cancer risk is well established, which is important for people with personal/family history or genetic susceptibility. Genetic testing is not sufficient motivation to prompt healthier lifestyle behaviors. This systematic review aims to describe and assess interventions for promoting healthy behaviors in people at high risk of cancer.

However, access to education programmes to increase knowledge on cancer and genetics and promote healthy lifestyle behaviors in people at high risk of cancer is scarce. This affects the quality of care of people with a hereditary risk of cancer.

Psychometric properties of the oral feeding assessment in premature infants scale.

Professionals that work in neonatal units need to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the premature infant who is in the transition process from feeding through a gastric tube to oral feeding. The main aim of this study was to validate the Oral FEeding Assessment in premaTure INfants (OFEATINg) instrument. A psychometric validity and reliability study was conducted in Neonatal Intensive Care Units of two public, metropolitan, university hospitals.

Impact of collaborative nursing care on the recovery process of mental health day hospital users: a mixed-methods study protocol.

Introduction: Very few collaborative nursing care interventions have been studied and shown to be effective in the context of the paradigm shift towards recovery in mental health nursing. Positive Mental Health in University Students and Its Relations with Psychological Vulnerability, Mental Health Literacy, and Sociodemographic Characteristics: A Descriptive Correlational Study.

This study aimed to evaluate positive mental health (PMH) and its relation with sociodemographic characteristics, mental health literacy, and the psychological vulnerability scale (PVS) in Portuguese university students aged 17 to 62. A descriptive correlational study was carried out. An online survey was conducted to evaluate demographic variables, and several questionnaires were applied to evaluate positive mental health, psychological vulnerability, and mental health literacy.

Relationship between nurses' use of verbal de-escalation and mechanical restraint in acute inpatient mental health care: a retrospective study.

Although the use of verbal de-escalation in nursing has been shown to be an effective tool for controlling agitation and avoiding mechanical restraint, there is scarce evidence supporting the use of de-escalation by nurses and factors related to the patients who ultimately receive mechanical restraint. This retrospective study sought to examine the relationship between the use of verbal de-escalation by nurses and the clinical profile of patients who had received mechanical restraint at an acute mental health unit. This study analysed the records of patients who had received mechanical restraint between the years 2012 and 2019.

Nursing Practice Environment in Psychiatric Units: A Scoping Review.

The practice environment is a key element that influences the quality of psychiatric-mental health nursing care; however, little is known about it. For the current study, to explore the evidence on environmental factors influencing nursing practice in psychiatric inpatient units, a scoping review of primary research published between 2009 and 2019 was performed. The Wijma Delivery Expectancy/Experience Questionnaire (W-DEQ-B) is an instrument that allows the experiences around fear of childbirth to be examined after the birth. It is currently the most widely used to measure different aspects related to the fear of childbirth and enables healthcare and additional assistance to women after birth to be adapted according to their needs. The objective of this study was to translate the W-DEQ-B into Spanish and analyse its reliability and validity.

A method to determine a personalized set of online exercises for improving the positive mental health of a caregiver of a chronically ill patient.

Background: Taking care of chronic or long-term patients at home is an arduous task. Non-professional caregivers suffer the consequences of doing so, especially in terms of their mental health. Performing some simple activities through a mobile phone app may improve their mindset and consequently increase their positivity.

A qualitative study exploring the patients' perspective from the 'Reserved Therapeutic Space' nursing intervention in acute mental health units.

This study aimed to explore the perspective of people who had experienced treatment as patients at acute mental health units, regarding an intervention model to improve therapeutic relationships in the units, which had been previously designed by the nurses. The study participants were people linked to collectives for social activism in mental health. Six focus groups were held.

A Mobile App-Based Intervention Program for Nonprofessional Caregivers to Promote Positive Mental Health: Randomized Controlled Trial.

Background: While nonprofessional caregivers often experience a sense of fulfillment when they provide care, there is also a significant risk of emotional and physical burnout. Consequently, this can negatively affect both the caregiver and the person being cared for. Intervention programs can help empower nonprofessional caregivers of people with chronic diseases and develop solutions to decrease the physical and psychological consequences resulting from caregiving.

A Communicative Intervention to Improve the Psychoemotional State of Critical Care Patients Transported by Ambulance.

Background: Communication is key to understanding the emotional state of critical care patients.

Objective: To analyze the effectiveness of the communicative intervention known as CONECTEM, which incorporates basic communication skills and augmentative alternative communication, in improving pain, anxiety, and posttraumatic stress disorder symptoms in critical care patients transported by ambulance.

Methods: This study had a quasi-experimental design with intervention and control groups.

Nursing Process Addressing the Focus "Anxiety": A Scoping Review.

The aim of this review was to map the body of literature on data, diagnoses and interventions addressing the nursing focus "anxiety." A scoping review methodology was employed. The Joanna Briggs guidelines for scoping reviews and PRISMA checklist for scoping reviews were followed.

E-Learning course for nurses on pain assessment in patients unable to self-report.

Public hospitals in Catalonia, Spain, have recommended assessing pain in non-communicative inpatients by means of the Spanish version of the Pain Assessment in Advanced Dementia scale (PAINAD-Sp) since 2010; a modification for patients with neurologic disorders and cancer, PAINAD-Sp_Hosp, has also been validated. However, nurses are not routinely trained in the use of the scales. The aim of this study was to assess knowledge on pain assessment in nurses following an online training course.

Ethical conflicts and their characteristics among critical care nurses.

Introduction: Ethical conflict is a phenomenon that has been under study over the last three decades, especially the types moral dilemma and moral distress in the field of nursing care. However, ethical problems and their idiosyncrasies need to be further explored.

Aim: The objectives of this study were, first, to obtain a transcultural Portuguese-language adaptation and validation of the Ethical Conflict Nursing Questionnaire-Critical Care Version and, second, to analyse Portuguese critical care nurses' level of exposure to ethical conflict and its characteristics.
