Objective: The primary aim of our study was to compare tumor size assessment by pre-operative evaluation (physical examination and/or imaging) with tumor size on final pathology. As a secondary outcome, we evaluated the rate of adjuvant treatment in patients who underwent radical hysterectomy whose tumor size was ≥3 cm on final pathology.

Methods: Patient details were collected from three separate databases: the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center Radical Hysterectomy Database, the SUCCOR Study Group Database, and the Multi-institutional Database LATAM (encompassing Latin America and Europe).

Somatic mutations within the exonuclease proofreading domain (EDM) of the DNA polymerase Pol ϵ () gene are increasingly being discovered in ovarian, colorectal, urological, and, especially, endometrial carcinoma (EC), where these are found in up to 10% of the cases. In EC, there are five confirmed pathogenic somatic -EDM mutations that are located at codons 286, 411, 297, 456, and 459, and these are called "hotspot" mutations. mutant tumors are ultramutated entities with a frequency of base substitution mutations that is among the highest in human tumors.

Objective: Immune checkpoint inhibitors have recently demonstrated benefit in patients with advanced and recurrent endometrial carcinoma. This retrospective study investigated immune checkpoint molecules in endometrial carcinoma as they pertain to the molecular subtypes, clinical outcomes, and predictive value.

Methods: Tumoral RNA expression of genes controlling the immune checkpoint, programmed cell death 1 (PD1, encoded by ), its ligand (PDL1, encoded by ), and interferon gamma () was determined in 239 endometrial carcinoma tissues by quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) and compared with endometrial tissue from 25 controls.

Objective: The use of conventional doxorubicin in combination with trabectedin leads to a considerable prolongation of progression-free survival in the treatment of uterine sarcomas but is associated with dose-limiting toxicities. Significant progression-free survival improvement was recently obtained through treatment prolongation with trabectedin single agent. We hypothesize that the therapeutic index of pegylated liposomal doxorubicin combined with trabectedin could be superior to the combination with conventional doxorubicin due to a more favorable toxicity profile.

Epithelial ovarian cancer most commonly presents at advanced stages, and prognosis is influenced by residual disease following cytoreduction. The significance of cardiophrenic lymph node resection at the time of cytoreductive surgery in advanced ovarian cancer remains a topic of debate. Enlarged cardiophrenic lymph nodes are detected through high-resolution imaging; however, the optimal imaging technique in determining feasibility of node resection remains uncertain.

Background: The Warshaw (WT) and the Kimura (KT) techniques are both used for open or minimally invasive (MI) spleen preserving distal pancreatectomy (SPDP). Multicenter studies on long-term outcome of WT and KT are lacking.

Methods: Multicenter retrospective study with transversal follow-up moment, including patients who underwent SPDP from 2000 to 2017 at three high-volume centers in Italy and the Netherlands.

Pancreatic cancer (PC) is a solid tumor with still a dismal prognosis. Diagnosis is usually late, when the disease is metastatic or locally advanced (LAPC). Only 20% of PC are amenable to surgery at the time of diagnosis and the vast majority of them, despite radically resected will unavoidably recur.

Background: Chyle leak is an uncommon complication after pancreatic surgery. The chyle leak incidence, definition, diagnosis, and treatment had been reported heterogeneously so far. Recently a consensus definition and grading system was published by the International Study Group for Pancreatic Surgery.

Background/objectives: Screening/surveillance programs for pancreatic cancer (PC) in familial high-risk individuals (FPC-HRI) have been widely reported, but their merits remain unclear. The data reported so far are heterogeneous-especially in terms of screening yield. We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis of currently available data coming from screening/surveillance programs to evaluate the proportion of screening goal achievement (SGA), overall surgery and unnecessary surgery.
