Results and complications of carotid endarterectomy in a hospital from Madrid, Spain.

Objective: To study the incidence of cerebrovascular (transient ischemic attacks and stroke) and myocardial events (myocardial infarction) as well as early survival related to carotid endarterectomy. Our secondary aim is to establish possible risk factors associated with complications.

Method: Retrospective observational case-control study within a cohort.
