Dendritic cell sarcomas/tumours of the breast: report of two cases.

Extranodal follicular dendritic cell sarcoma/tumours (FDCS/Ts) and interdigitating dendritic cell sarcoma/tumours (IDCS/Ts) are rare neoplasms. We present two cases of FDCS/T and IDCS/T of the breast. The FDCS/T case (case 1) presented in a 31-year-old woman and the IDCS/T case (case 2) in a 67-year-old woman who both showed a firm lump in the left breast.

Hypoepiluminescence microscopy of pigmented skin lesions: new approach to improve recognition of dermoscopic structures.

Background: Hypoepiluminescence microscopy (HELM) is a new dermoscopic approach for analysis of pigmented skin lesions (PSLs) after surgical excision.

Objectives: The objective was to verify whether this method could provide additional morphologic information for diagnostic or didactic purposes compared to conventional epiluminescence microscopy (ELM).

Patients And Methods: Thirty-one PSLs from 30 patients were consecutively evaluated by ELM and, after excision, by HELM.

An original protocol for standardized histopathology reporting of prostate carcinoma.

Standardized histopathology reporting represents the most effective approach to the diagnosis of malignant tumors. The use of checklists is considered the best single practice in ensuring the completeness of daily reporting and enables the pathologist to provide crucial information, affecting therapeutic decisions. Despite the huge amount of available protocols, a great variability is still found in prostate cancer reports, particularly on the expense of core needle biopsies.
