The objective of this study was to evaluate effect of comprehensive rehabilitation on dynamics of characteristics of the quality of life in children with chronic gastroduodenal pathology. The study included 155 children aged 14-15 years examined in the phase of exacerbation of chronic gastroduodenitis (CGD). Sixty one of these patients were given treatment in the "Detskie dyuny" children's sanatorium rehabilitation centre and the remaining 54 received traditional combined therapy services as outpatients (control group).

Physiological studies of the functional status of children, ergonomic calculations and pedagogical observations made it possible to recommend that the number of preschool groups should be decreased down to 20 children.

The schoolchildren attending schools with optimal conditions had the most favourable state of all functions. The most significant conditions were a degree of isolation of the group and also design characteristics satisfying necessary regimen requirements.
