[The determination of microalbuminuria by immunoenzyme analysis].

The authors have defined the optimal conditions for inhibitory type enzyme immunoassay of microalbuminuria. The range of albumin detection is 30 to 250 micrograms/ml. The optimal time of antigen binding with antibody is 45 min, the lower threshold level of albumin detection 0.

[Enzymatic synthesis of acyl peptides containing p-nitroanilides of basic amino acids].

A method is suggested for synthesis of acylpeptides, containing arginine or lysine p-nitroanilides at the C-terminus, via the acyl transfer reaction catalyzed by the Bacillus subtilis serine proteinase. Acyl-di- and acyltripeptide ethers with L- and D-amino acids were used as the carboxyl component taken in a twofold excess. When the concentration of dimethylformamide increases, the hydrolysis of the initial ether and the reaction product diminishes.

[Diagnostic value of detection of blood levels of lactate, pyruvate and 2,3-diphosphoglycerate in children with diabetes mellitus].

Measurements were made of lactate, pyruvate and 2,3-diphosphoglycerate in 69 children admitted to the hospital in a state of diabetic ketoacidosis of different intensity. Depending on the intensity of metabolic abnormalities, the content of lactate and pyruvate was found to be increased, whereas that of 2,3-diphosphoglycerate to be lowered. Measurements of the content of lactate and the lactate/pyruvate ratio enables carrying out differential diagnosis between the ketoacidotic and lactacidotic varieties of diabetic coma.

[The preparation of an IgG diagnostic agent based on stained polyacrolein latexes for use in the latex agglutination reaction].

IgG diagnosticum for measuring the concentration of 131I-labeled IgG antibodies to enteric antigen beta 1MA by the latex agglutination inhibition (LAI) test has been prepared on the basis of polyacrolein latexes. A method for the titration of anti-IgG antibodies with the use of the above diagnosticum has been developed, based on the late, agglutination (LA) test. The optimum conditions for the microtitration variant of the LA and LAI tests have been defined.

[Hypoglycemia and epilepsy syndrome in diabetes mellitus in children].

Eight children suffering from diabetes mellitus and epilepsia were followed up. Emphasis is laid on the necessity of measuring glycemia in diabetes mellitus patients during convulsive attacks as well as on the importance of early diagnosis of epilepsia to institute multimodality treatment.

[Insulin requirements of patients with initial manifestations and decompensation of diabetes mellitus].

Altogether 100 children suffering from insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus were examined. Analysis of insulin requirement was performed in children with the first disease manifestation and in those with varying disease standing with regard to the type of insulin preparations used. According to the clinical observations, mono-component insulin preparations turned out absolutely superior in the attainment of diabetic process compensation in children with a comparatively low insulin requirement in the course of the treatment of the first disease manifestation and insulin requirement appreciably rose with the increase of the disease standing or superaddition of intercurrent diseases.

[Interaction of chondroitin sulfate with enzymes].

Chondroitin sulphate forms noncovalent electrostatic biocatalyst-glycosaminoglycan complexes in the solutions of enzymes. Chondroitin sulphate also interacts with enzymes developing complexes after carbodiimide activation of its carboxylic groups. Relatively low-molecular weight of biocatalysts (chymotrypsin, superoxide dismutase) forms stable noncovalent conjugates with the additional interaction as compared with electrostatic complexes.
