Extended release potassium salts overdose and endoscopic removal of a pharmacobezoar: A case report.

Background: Reported cases of potassium overdoses have shown that this condition could generate several morbidities, mainly related to cardiac dysrhythmias even with fatal outcomes in some cases. Potassium salts in extended release tablets could form pharmacobezoars if a large amount is ingested. In relation to the above, when the patient has a pharmacobezoar, clinical findings may be delayed and may persist.
