A great deal of efforts has been put into studying the influence of the external macroenvironment for activated sludge to survive on microbial community succession, while granular internal spatial microenvironment should be given equal attention, because it is more directly involved in the information exchange and material transfer among microorganisms. This study systematically investigated the effects of granular microenvironment on spatial colonization and composition of sludge's core functional flora, and the corresponding difference of biological treatment performance. High content of extracellular-proteins (67.

High salt seriously destroys the stable interactions among key functional species of activated sludge, which in turn limits the performance of high-salinity wastewater biological treatment. In this study, pelletized Aspergillus tubingensis (AT) was used as a protective backbone structure for activated sludge under high-salinity stress, and a superior salt-tolerant AT-based aerobic granular sludge (AT-AGS) was developed. Results showed that the COD and NH-N removal efficiencies of salt-domesticated AT-AGS were 11.

In the blast furnace ironmaking process, accurate prediction of silicon content in molten iron is of great significance for maintaining stable furnace conditions, improving hot metal quality, and reducing energy consumption. However, most of the current research works employ linear correlation coefficient methods to select input features in modeling, which may not fully take the nonlinear and coupling relationships between features into account. Therefore, this article considers the input feature selection issue of silicon content prediction model from a new perspective and proposes a multiobjective evolutionary nonlinear ensemble learning model with evolutionary feature selection mechanism (MOENE-EFS), in which extreme learning machine is adopted as the base learner.

Spinal cord injury (SCI) is a devastating neurological condition that results in progressive tissue loss, secondary to vascular dysfunction and inflammation. Lack of effective pharmacotherapies for SCI is mainly attributable to an incomplete understanding of its pathogenesis. Stimulator of interferon gene (Sting), also known as Transmembrane protein 173 (TMEM173), activates the type I interferon-regulated innate immune response, playing crucial role in modulating inflammation.

Telomerase-targeted treatments for cancer have received a great deal of attention because telomerase is detected in nearly all cancer cells but is not expressed in most normal tissues. Aneuploidy refers to a chromosome number that is not a multiple of the base chromosome number and can indicate either hypo- or hyperploid chromosome numbers. Most solid tumors are aneuploid.
