The Water Sediment Discharge Regulation (WSR) in the Yellow River transports a vast quantity of freshwater and materials to the Bohai Sea within 20 days, significantly altering the ambient environment of the estuary. To elucidate the ecological impacts of this typically artificial flood event, we investigated the benthic habitats and macrobenthic biodiversity within the Affected Core Area (ACA) influenced by this discharge. Our results show that: (1) The discharge created an area with extreme environmental conditions, extending from the southern estuary to Laizhou Bay.

In the serviced components of a 7075 aluminum alloy, the propagation of fatigue crack can be retarded because of the overload effect; however, the corresponding retardation mechanisms are complex. To provide further insights into the retardation mechanisms of 7075 aluminum alloys, this study addresses the crack tip damage response of a cracked 7075 aluminum alloy under an overload effect. Based on the dual-scale modeling approach and the damage-coupled crystal plasticity model, the effect of the microstructure of a 7075 aluminum alloy on the damage behavior ahead of the crack tip under an overload was studied.

Cancer metabolism has emerged as a major target for cancer therapy, while the state of mitochondrial drugs has remained largely unexplored, partly due to an inadequate understanding of various mitochondrial functions in tumor contexts. Here, we report that HOMER3 is highly expressed in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and is closely correlated with poor prognosis. Lung cancer cells with low levels of HOMER3 are found to show significant mitochondrial dysfunction, thereby suppressing their proliferation and metastasis in vivo and in vitro.

A palladium catalyzed tandem reaction between -functionalized aryl enones and 2,4-dienyl carbonates has been presented, proceeding through sequential 2,4-dienylation/Michael addition/π-σ-π isomerization/allylic alkylation. A broad array of enantioenriched architectures having fused and spirocyclic frameworks are constructed in moderate to excellent yields and stereoselectivity. Notably, the intrinsic intramolecular Diels-Alder reaction pattern of the dienylated intermediates is well reversed via Pd(0)-π-Lewis base catalysis.
