Background: Urinary tract calculi (UTC) in patients awaiting living donor liver transplant (LDLT) requires proper management due to increased risk of infections in the post-liver transplant (LT) period.
Materials And Methods: A retrospective analysis of records of LDLT recipients with UTC was conducted between July 2019 and July 2023. No prisoners or paid participants were included.
Background/aims: Per-oral (PO) administration of tacrolimus (TAC) results in inadequate trough levels in the early postoperative period in liver-transplant (LT) recipients who undergo Roux-en-Y hepaticojejunostomy for biliary reconstruction. Sublingual administration (SL) of tacrolimus provides an alternative route in such patients. The objectives of this study were to assess the feasibility and safety of SL tacrolimus in adult LT-recipients in the early postoperative period and to compare therapeutic efficacy of SL administration of tacrolimus versus PO route.

In this study, a photocatalyst was developed to degrade TC using a Ce-N-co-doped AC/TiO photocatalyst, denoted as Ce/N-AC/TiO, prepared using the sol-gel method assisted by microwave radiation, speeding up the synthesis process. Ce/N-AC/TiO achieved maximum TC degradation of 93.

This study aimed to build machine learning (ML) models to predict potential α-glucosidase inhibitors based on the data set comprising over 537 reported plant secondary metabolite (PSM) α-glucosidase inhibitors. We assessed 35 ML models by using seven different fingerprints.

In line with this, recent advances in biosorption of pollutants from aqueous solutions using animal biowaste-based activated carbon (AC) are reported herein. Apart from the fish scale-derived AC which is extensively documented, animal bones, among the rest others, have been studied most widely, followed by hair and feathers.

Many human activities, such as improper waste disposal from households, industries, hospitals, and synthetic processes, are major contributors to the contamination of water streams. It is the responsibility of every individual to safeguard water resources and reduce pollution.

In the present study, we investigated the surface chlorination of IrO2(110) by HCl using temperature programmed reaction spectroscopy (TPRS), x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and density functional theory (DFT) calculations. We find that exposing IrO2(110) to HCl, followed by heating to 650 K in ultrahigh vacuum, produces nearly equal quantities of on-top and bridging Cl atoms on the surface, Clt and Clbr, where the Clbr atoms replace O-atoms that are removed from the surface by H2O formation.

Introduction: In recent times, there has been a surge in proposed alternative approaches to computing low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), with a focus on enhancing precision, particularly within diverse demographic and clinical groups. Our aim is to assess the agreement, precision, and practicality of these methods compared to direct LDL-C measurements, with the goal of identifying the most effective approach for estimating LDL-C in the Indian context.
Methods: It is a retrospective analytical study.

Background: Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) represents a significant and pressing worldwide health concern, necessitating the quest for enhanced antidiabetic pharmaceuticals. Guanidine derivatives, notably metformin and buformin, have emerged as pivotal therapeutic agents for T2DM management.
Aims: The present study introduces an efficient one-pot synthesis method for the production of symmetrical guanidine compounds.
Unlabelled: Meat and meat products, apart from being highly nutritious, comes with several health risk factors as they are also high in saturated fatty acids which can trigger various health issues. This can be modified functionally by incorporating various herbs, spices, fruits and vegetables that has functional properties benefiting the human health. Attempt has been made in this study to investigate the benefits ofincorporation of two such functional ingredients, viz.

We aimed to investigate medical trainees' knowledge and attitudes toward e-cigarette and hookah use.
Methods: We used data from a large cross-sectional survey of medical trainees in Brazil, the United States, and India.
In the twenty-first century, there is still a taboo on frank discussion of menstruation in Indian society, particularly with men. This inadvertently widens the gender/equity gap in families and in society. Even men in the healthcare sector are uncomfortable talking about this because the societal norms often overpower professional knowledge.
