Background: The aim of this study was the evaluation of length of the procedure, anaesthesia, the amount of the intraoperative fluid required, total blood loss and postoperative pain of the 'thermal welding system tonsillectomy (TWS)' compared with the conventional 'cold dissection tonsillectomy'.
