Introduction: High exposure to heat and combustion byproducts is associated with health problems and an increased risk of cancer.
Objective: To study the effects of heat and smoke derived from burning on the upper airway of firefighters.
Methods: Thirteen firefighters underwent a 4-week training program in Compartment Fire Behavior Training simulators while working with live fire, heat, and smoke from pallets and oriented-strand board sheet burns.
Although regular combined aerobic-resistance exercises can ameliorate the inflammatory status and redox balance in elderly population, it is unclear whether protein or specific amino acid supplementation could improve such benefits. Therefore, we aimed to evaluate the inflammatory status and redox indexes through of the saliva of 34 elderly subject nonpractitioners (NP group, 73.3 ± 6.

Similarly, three other binary systems containing [C(4)mim](+) (1-methyl-3-butylimidazolium) as a common cation have been studied: [C(4)mim]([NTf(2)] + [PF(6)]), [C(4)mim]([NTf(2)] + [BF(4)]) and [C(4)mim]([BF(4)] + [PF(6)]). Thus, the mixing process of two distinct ions of equal sign embedded in a constant field network of a given counterion was analyzed.
