Background: To present the characteristics of drug hypersensitivity reactions (DHR) among iron preparations and to describe the outcomes of rapid drug desensitization (RDD) and drug provocation tests (DPT) of ferric carboxymaltose (FCM).
Methods: The retrospective descriptive study comprised patients with hypersensitivy to iron supplements. Low-risk according to the index reaction with iron, 10 patients underwent a 4-step DPT with FCM; an 11-step RDD protocol was administered to 21 patients not classified as low-risk.
Objectives: Evaluation of the validity of the Quadruple-D score in the prediction of success in pediatric stone disease.
Materials And Methods: Of the 292 children treated with SWL between 2007 and 2023, a total of 158 children who had adequate follow-up data and evaluated with non-contrast computed tomography before SWL, were included in the study. Parameters were calculated for each of the stone volume (SV), skin-to-stone distance (SSD), stone density (SD) and stone location (SL) variables.
The standard therapeutic regimen for idiopathic chronic eosinophilic pneumonia (ICEP) involves the administration of oral corticosteroids (OCS). However, a notable proportion of individuals experience recurrent episodes after the tapering or cessation of OCS during the course of ICEP. There has been a growing interest in exploring alternative treatment modalities for patients with ICEP at heightened risk of relapse.

Although biologic agents promise a short- to medium-term remission in asthma, it is unclear whether they can fundamentally alter disease course and achieve long-term remission. We aimed to investigate the clinical remission success of biologics in patients with severe asthma and the factors associated with remission. Adults followed-up due to severe asthma who were treated with mepolizumab or omalizumab were included in the study.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the effect of previous unsuccessful STING on the outcomes of RALUR in children.
Study Design: A total of 67 children treated with RALUR by a single surgeon for the treatment of VUR were scanned between February 2018 and April 2022.
Background: The COVID-19 pandemic resulted in an abrupt transition from in-person to online learning in Spring 2020.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to identify the impact of the transition on undergraduates during the period following the campus closure.
Method: 131 psychology undergraduate students completed an online survey of how the COVID-19 closure had impacted their academics, online learning environment, and traumatic stress symptoms (using the Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Checklist for the DSM-5).
Objective: Fetal surgery for spina bifida aperta (SBA) by open hysterotomy typically repairs anatomical native tissue in layers. Increasingly, fetoscopic repair is performed using a dural patch followed by skin closure. We studied the host response to selected commercially available patches currently being used in a fetal rabbit model for spina bifida repair.

SWL is the first-line treatment method for kidney stones <2 cm in children, however, it was not validated in the pediatric population. This article aims to validate Triple D score in pediatric patients.

The goal of this research was to examine if bladder wall thickness together with urine NGF/Cr could be a clinical utility in treatment outcome of OAB in children.
Patients And Methods: A total of 60 children with OAB, (Group 1; n=40) and healthy normal controls (Group 2; n=20), aged 6-14 years old were involved in this prospective study.
Aim: There are scanty data on the rate of abnormal Tc-99 m dimercaptosuccinic acid (DMSA) renal scintigraphy and associated factors in children older than 5 years with diagnosis of VUR. We do not have knowledge about which older children should undergo DMSA after VUR diagnosis. This study aims to assess the rate of abnormal DMSA findings and associated factors in children older than 5 years of age diagnosed with VUR.

Thus, if one of the suspected causes of hypospadias is placental insufficiency, then the neurodevelopmental status of boys with hypospadias may be impaired. The aim of this study was to evaluate the neurodevelopmental status of boys with hypospadias and guide the parents of those who need support to related departments for early intervention.

Materials and Methods: This case-control study was conducted in Ibn-i Sina Hospital and retrospectively collected data of 471 boys were analyzed. All patients were scanned for any urinary tract abnormality and those with any defined abnormalities were classified as non-healthy group.

In general, small RNAs (sRNAs) are produced within the eukaryotic cells and incorporated into an RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC) within cells. However, exogenous sRNAs, once delivered into cells, can also silence target genes via the same RISC.

The isolates -Noks1 and -Cala2 are virulent on accession RMX-A02 whilst an F generated from a cross between these two isolates was avirulent. The F progeny segregated 3,1 (avirulent, virulent), indicating a single major effect locus in this pathogen.

Different hormone treatments with different doses, modalities, indications, and treatment times come along with some disputes. The aim of this study is to evaluate the management approaches in hypospadias surgery of surgeons in regards to hormone preparations.

Methods: A total of 242 patients with 284 stones presenting at our institution between June 2004 and December 2014 with an asymptomatic, single LPK stone with a diameter of <10 mm were enrolled in the study.
Sodium phosphate based laxatives are commonly used for constipation and pre-procedural bowel cleansing. Phosphate intoxication related with these preparations is well recognized. Herein, we present a case of severe hyperphosphatemia and seizure in a 7-year-old male patient after administration of an oral sodium phosphate based laxative.

Patients And Methods: A retrospective review of medical records between 1994 and 2014 identified 117 children (64 males and 53 females) who underwent augmentation cystoplasty. Complications were evaluated according to the MCCS.
Introduction: It is generally agreed that the cause of a megaureter is narrowing at the vesicoureteral junction, with a functional obstruction arising from an aperistaltic, juxtavesical segment that is unable to transport urine at an acceptable rate. Histological examinations of megaureter specimens have reported several histological analyses, and the pathogenic role of transforming growth factor is still a matter of speculation.
Objective: To evaluate whether transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β) and its receptors (TGFRs) are expressed during ureterovesical junction (UVJ) and lower ureter development in mice, and whether exogenous TGF-β might postpone the maturation of smooth muscle cells, in the pathogenesis of megaureter using an embryonic organ-culture model.
Horseshoe kidney is a relatively common congenital anomaly. In 95% of the cases, lower poles are connected to each other. In a small subset, an isthmus connects both upper poles (reverse horseshoe kidney).
