Objective: Epigenetic mechanisms, including DNA methylation (DNAm), have been proposed to play a key role in Crohn's disease (CD) pathogenesis. However, the specific cell types and pathways affected as well as their potential impact on disease phenotype and outcome remain unknown. We set out to investigate the role of intestinal epithelial DNAm in CD pathogenesis.

Previous studies focused on immune-mediated processes, however, the exact pathomechanism of TIP is essentially unclear.
Methods: To model TIP in vivo, we triggered cerulein-induced experimental pancreatitis in mice receiving a daily oral dose of 1.
Background: Mutations in the gene-encoding for the major Ca channel of the heart-may exhibit a variety of clinical manifestations. These include typical or atypical Timothy syndromes (TS) which are associated with multiple organ manifestations, and cardiac involvement in form of malignant arrhythmias, QTc prolongation, or AV block. "Cardiac only" Timothy syndrome (COTS) shows no extracardiac manifestation, whereas some gene mutations are associated with QTc prolongation alone (isolated long QT syndrome 8, LQT8).

Methods: AD model was developed by intracerebroventricular injection of pre-aggregated β25-35 fibrils. Rats were intravenously administered either solvent, donepezil-loaded NPs (15µg/kg) or free donepezil (1mg/kg) 3 times for a week except for naïve controls.
Background: There is a need for further understanding pediatric long COVID syndrome (LCS) to be able to create specific case definitions and guidelines for providing good clinical care.
Methods: Medical records of all LCS patients who presented at our designated LC clinic were collected. We carried out descriptive analyses summarizing the history, clinical presentation, and findings of children, while doing a diagnosis of exclusion with multi-disciplinary medical examinations (physical, laboratory, and radiological examinations, specialist consultations, etc.

Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a complex, chronic, and progressive neurodegenerative disease that is characterized by irreversible dopaminergic neuronal loss in the substantia nigra. Alpha-synuclein is normally a synaptic protein that plays a key role in PD due to pathological accumulation as oligomers or fibrils. Clustered alpha-synuclein binds to the Toll-like receptors and activates the microglia, which initiates a process that continues with pro-inflammatory cytokine production and secretion.

Our previous study reported that the expression of CFTR Cl channel is impaired by ethanol in pancreatic ductal cells leading to more severe alcohol-induced pancreatitis. In addition to determining epithelial ion secretion, CFTR has multiple interactions with other proteins, which may influence intracellular Ca signaling.

Inflammatory markers were suggested to be related with hepatic steatosis. Uric acid to HDL cholesterol ratio is proposed as a novel inflammatory and metabolic marker.

Aims: We aimed to obtain a real-world data about the effects of empagliflozin add-on treatment on metabolic parameters, cardiovascular risk factors, and anthropometric measures in patients with T2DM.
Objectives: Post-ERCP pancreatitis (PEP) is a life-threatening complication. Given the lack of a causative treatment for pancreatitis, it is of vital importance to minimize this risk of PEP. Multi-target preventive therapy may be the best choice for PEP prevention as disease development is multifactorial.

The research landscape within the European Society of Paediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition (ESPGHAN) is also inevitably changing from clinical research to studies involving applied laboratory research. This position paper aims to depict the current status quo of basic science and translational research within ESPGHAN, and to delineate how the society could invest in research in the present and future time.

The rate of uric acid and HDL cholesterol - so called as uric acid to HDL ratio (UHR) has been shown to be elevated in inflammatory conditions diseases. We aimed to compare UHR and other laboratory parameters of the patients with HT to those values in healthy controls.

Based on current data, necroptosis serves as a backup mechanism when death receptor-induced apoptosis is inhibited or absent. However, the necroptotic role of the proteins involved in mitochondrial apoptosis has not been investigated.

All of the compounds exhibited selective MAO-A inhibitor activity in the nanomolar or low micromolar range. The results of the molecular docking for hydrazone derivatives supported the results.

Previous clinical studies on montelukast have reported conflicting results and, to the best of our knowledge, no experimental studies concerning these side effects had been conducted. In the current study, the effect of montelukast on depression-like behavior in an ovalbumin (OVA)-induced mouse model was investigated.

The roles of members of the calcitonin-gene related-peptide (CGRP) family in treating cardiopulmonary diseases have been studied for many years and promising results obtained.

Hippocampal Lewy pathology has recently been correlated by compelling evidence from post-mortem and imaging studies. Animal models recapitulating cognitive impairment in PD are essential to better understand the underlying pathophysiology.

However, the mechanism of post receptor-interaction is not clear and may differ depending on tissue type and species. In this study, we aimed to investigate the exact mechanism and the role of BK and calcium channels on the vasorelaxant effect of AM2/IMD in rat PA.
