- The study aimed to determine if dual-energy spectral techniques in CT scans could enhance the diagnosis accuracy of acute gangrenous appendicitis.
- A total of 209 patients with appendicitis were evaluated using different imaging methods, with key metrics such as sensitivity and specificity calculated by two radiologists.
- Results showed that dual-energy CT methods (virtual monoenergetic and iodine overlay imaging) achieved 100% sensitivity for detecting gangrenous appendicitis, outperforming traditional imaging, and demonstrated high accuracy and reliability.
Our purpose was to identify the top 100 cited articles, which focused on CT colonography (CTC). This list could then be analysed to establish trends in CTC research while also identifying common characteristics of highly cited works. Web of Science search was used to create a database of scientific journals using our search terms.
