We investigated time-dependent changes in the relapse features of renal cell carcinoma (RCC) after curative surgery. Between 1985 and 2015, 1398 patients with RCC (1226 clear cell RCC, 89 papillary RCC, and 53 chromophobe RCC) underwent curative surgery at Yokohama City University Hospital and its affiliated hospitals. We retrospectively reviewed the clinicopathologic factors of patients with relapse after surgery.

[Multi-center trial on the early effects of silodosin on lower urinary tract symptoms associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia].

Silodosin (URIEF), a new so-called 3rd generation alpha-1 blocker, is widely expected to be effective and useful for lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), due to its high specificity to alpha-1A receptor. We evaluated the efficacy of Silodosin, on 187 males 50 years old or over with the diagnosis of BPH. Silodosin significantly improved the International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS) and quality of life (QOL) score from the day after administration was started.

Antitumour effect of electrochemotherapy with bleomycin on human prostate cancer xenograft.

Objective: To investigate the antitumour effect of electroporation (EP), a drug delivery system that has been shown to be effective synergistically with antitumour drugs, with bleomycin on the growth of prostate cancer xenografts in nude mice.

Materials And Methods: PC-3 cells were implanted subcutaneously into nude mice. After determination of the optimal conditions of electric pulse voltage and bleomycin dose, tumour growth in mice treated with EP plus bleomycin was compared with that in mice receiving EP alone, bleomycin alone or no treatment.

Muscle and small intestinal metastasis of renal cell carcinoma markedly responsive to interferon-alpha therapy: a case report.

Skeletal muscle and small intestine are rare sites of metastasis in renal cell carcinoma. Therefore very few reports of interferon-alpha (IFN-alpha) therapy exist for these types of metastasis. Here, a case of metastatic renal cell carcinoma to muscle and jejunum is reported.

[Pheochromocytoma manifested by traumatic adrenal hemorrhage].

[Small cell carcinoma of the bladder: a case report].

A 61-year-old man was referred to our hospital with a complaint of gross hematuria and lower abdominal discomfort. Ultrasonography, magnetic resonance imaging and cystoscopy revealed a nodular invasive tumor in urinary bladder. The histopathological findings of transurethral-biopsy specimen was the small cell carcinoma and transitional cell carcinoma of the bladder infiltrating into smooth muscle layer.
