Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the effect of random biopsy and endo-cervical curettage (ECC), alone and together, in the diagnosis of high-grade cervical lesions in women with normal colposcopy.
Materials And Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted on 356 women who underwent colposcopy examination in the gynecology-oncology clinic of Roointan-Arash Women's Hospital, affiliated with Tehran University of Medical Sciences. All eligible women underwent colposcopy.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the impact of preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidy (PGT-A) on clinical outcomes among high-risk patients.
Methods: This retrospective study involved 1,368 patients and the same number of cycles, including 520 cycles with PGT-A and 848 cycles without PGT-A. The study participants comprised women of advanced maternal age (AMA) and those affected by recurrent implantation failure (RIF), recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL), or severe male factor infertility (SMF).
Objectives: Despite extensive research on endometrial cancer (EC) and endometrial hyperplasia, there is still a gap in understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying their development and progression. The aim of this study was to investigate the expression levels of FOXO-1, P27, miR-27, and miR-186, and Akt1, Akt-P proteins in patients with EC and endometrial hyperplasia compared to control subjects.
Subjects And Methods: Samples of the endometrial tumor (n=30), normal (control) (n=30) and endometrial hyperplastic (n=30) tissue were obtained from patients referring to Arash and Imam Khomani hospitals, Tehran, Iran.
Objective: An association between microRNAs (miRNAs) and adhesion proteins expression with repeated implantation failure (RIF) has been recently reported; however, these findings are controversial. This study aims to evaluate the endometrial and circulating expressions of miR-145, miR-155-5p, and miR-224 in addition to the endometrial expressions of membrane protein palmitoylated-5 and endothelial cell adhesion molecule-1 in patients with RIF compared to control subjects.
Materials And Methods: This case-control study was carried out between June 2021-July 2022.
Background: Stevia rebaudiana is a medicinal herb that accumulates non-caloric sweeteners called steviol glycosides (SGs) which are approximately 300 times sweeter than sucrose. This study used alginate (ALG) as an elicitor to increase steviol glycosides accumulation and elucidate gene transcription in the steviol glycosides biosynthesis pathway.
Methods And Results: To minimize the grassy taste associated with stevia sweeteners, plantlets were grown in complete darkness.
Borderline oligohydramnios always produces a dilemma of management and counseling among obstetricians. This study was designed to compare the effect of sildenafil plus fluid therapy versus fluid therapy alone on pregnancy outcomes and AFI improvement in pregnant women complicated by idiopathic borderline oligohydramnios. This randomized clinical trial was conducted in Arash Women's Hospital, Tehran, Iran from 2017 to 2020.

Method: The current investigation was designed as a cross-sectional study conducted in Arash Women's Hospital, Tehran, Iran, between November 2020 and November 2021. Cervical cytology, HPV test, and anal cytology samples were prepared.
Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (VIA) is an inexpensive option for cervical cancer screening. In this study, we evaluated the role of the VIA as well as of the clinical symptoms/signs to find the best case-finding method for Cervical Intraepithelial Neoplasia (CIN) 2+. In a cross-sectional study, we extracted from records the demographic characteristics, clinical symptoms/signs, and indications for colposcopy referral of patients with CIN 2+ in pathology.

Despite considerable progress in reducing MMR in Iran in the past few years, we still face a long road ahead in eliminating preventable maternal deaths. In the present study, we evaluated all 80 cases of maternal deaths in 20 hospitals under the supervision of Tehran University of Medical Sciences between March 20 2013 and March 19 2020.

This study aimed to assess the immunogenicity and safety of the investigational bivalent HPV vaccine (16/18), named Papilloguard (Noyan Pajouhan Biopharma, Tehran, Iran), in comparison with the reference product (Cervarix, bivalent HPV vaccine (16/18) manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline, Rixensart, Belgium) in a three-dose regimen.
Methods: This trial was a randomized, controlled, double-blind, phase III study of two HPV vaccines in healthy female volunteers aged 15-25.
Purpose: Comparison of colposcopy-guided biopsy and endocervical cytologic (ECC) results in patients with negative Papanicolaou (Pap) and positive high-risk (HR) HPV tests in the three groups of HPV 16/18, non-16/18 HR-HPV (other HR-HPV), and concurrent infection of either HPV 16/18 and at least one subtype of other HR-HPVs.
Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted among women aged 30-65 who had negative Pap and positive HR-HPV DNA tests. Pap test was performed using liquid cytology.
This study aimed to compare the effectiveness of NAC plus low dose contraceptive with low dose contraceptives alone. This was a randomised trial on a sample of women who underwent conservative laparoscopic surgery for ovarian endometrioma. Patients were randomly assigned either to the NAC plus low dose contraceptive group ( = 48) or low dose contraceptive alone ( = 52).

In this study, we introduce a phase-only pulse shaper based on an all-dielectric CMOS-compatible polarization-insensitive metasurface, composed of Si nano cylinders sitting on a fused silica substrate. The required phase profile of the metasurface for desired waveforms are calculated using an iterative Fourier transform algorithm, and the performance of the pulse shaper metasurface in implementing the phase masks was assessed using full-wave simulations.

Methods: A multicenter retrospective cohort study of pregnant and nonpregnant women of reproductive age hospitalized between March and October 2020 in Tehran, Iran. Medical records were reviewed and women who tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 on RT-PCR were included.
Background: Mature Cystic Teratoma (MCT) is a benign tumor that can lead to malignant transformation (MT) in 1-3% of cases. Management of MT is a big challenge for gynecologic oncologists due to the lack of specific diagnostic and treatment protocols.
Case Presentation: We reported two Iranian cases of MT of MCT with two different stages and prognosis.
Objective: Endometrial hyperplasia (EH) is a premalignant neoplasm. Most recently, metformin has been suggested as an adjuvant medication for treating of EH with better outcome. Recent evidence has suggested that metformin has anticancer activity by inhibiting cell proliferation and tumor growth.

The beam shaper is designed to transform the pseudo-Gaussian beam of the mm-wave source into a flat-top beam of sharp roll-off at a specific distance in the Fresnel region. Firstly, relying on the geometrical optics principles, we propose an analytical formulation for the design of lens profiles.

The proposed structure is made up of a dielectric-coated metallic grating sandwiched by parallel metal plates. Based on the modal analysis of 2D and 3D structures, the impact of a metal cladding and a customized dielectric coating on the dispersion relation and field distribution of the guided surface wave is investigated.

This prospective cohort study was conducted in Arash Women's Hospital between August 2014 and August 2015 to define the relationship between caesarean section scar and placental implantation and migration. Seven hundred and thirty women with one previous birth (caesarean section or vaginal delivery) and a singleton pregnancy underwent three ultrasound examinations for placental evaluation at 11-14, 20 and 34 weeks gestation. Previous caesarean section was related to the increased odds of anterior placental implantation but no relation was seen between low-lying placenta or placenta praevia and previous caesarean.
