Phenylthiourea (PTU) is a well-known inhibitor of melanin synthesis that has been extensively utilized in ecotoxicological studies involving zebrafish. Although there are reports suggesting that PTU may influence the toxicity of various compounds, the underlying mechanisms of its action remain unclear. Bavachalcone (BavaC) has a wide range of applications in agriculture and medicine, and it can enter groundwater through a variety of pathways that may pose a risk to aquatic ecosystems.

BO has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activities, and is widely used in medicine, cosmetics, and detergents. In this study, zebrafish was used as a model organism to systematically evaluate the effects of BO on the heart, liver, kidney, and nervous system.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFTotal liver area is a traditional indicator in evaluating compound liver damage with zebrafish models. However, in some experiments, compounds changed zebrafish liver morphology but total liver area showed no significant difference, indicating it is inaccurate for evaluating compound effects on zebrafish liver damage. Therefore, in this study, transgenic zebrafish Tg(l-fabp:EGFP) labeled with liver cells using green fluorescent protein was used to evaluate compound effects on liver by the liver partition area ratio.

However, the anti-inflammatory effect of EB has not yet been reported. The anti-inflammatory activity of EB was evaluated in a zebrafish inflammation model induced by copper sulfate (CuSO) and tail cutting.

The deletion of the key gene responsible for triterpene cyclase biosynthesis in the polar strain sp. D-1 instigated metabolic shunting, resulting in the activation of dormant genes and the subsequent production of detectable, new compounds.

Seven pimarane-type diterpenes, including three new compounds eutypellenone F (), libertellenone Y (), and libertellenone Z (), and four known compounds (-), were isolated from fermentation broth of sp.

Methods: Ninety cases of elderly patients with total hip arthroplasty admitted to our hospital from January to December 2022 were selected as the observation sample, and the 90 elderly patients with total hip arthroplasty were divided into 45 control groups and 45 control groups by random number table method. The pain assessment, functional exercise compliance, hip joint function and quality of life of the two groups were compared after the intervention.
Introduction: Current studies estimated a general incubation period distribution of COVID-19 based on early-confirmed cases in Wuhan, and have not examined whether the incubation period distribution varies across population segments with different travel histories. We aimed to examine whether patients infected by community transmission had extended incubation periods than the early generation patients who had direct exposures to Wuhan.
Methodology: Based on 4741 patient case reports from municipal centers of disease control by February 21, 2020, we calculated the incubation periods of 2555 patients with clear epidemiological survey information and illness development timeline.
The shellfish has been extensively applied as a proxy for marine ecosystem monitoring, and the climate evolution or the shell growth might be derived from the elementary spatial distribution when using calcium (Ca) as the internal reference. Differed from other technique, the calcium emission lines are spread all over the wavelength range when applying Micro-probe Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (Micro-LIBS) to analyze the shell. So it is crucial to select a suitable calcium line for the shell elementary analysis.

Methods: From September 2008 to June 2013, 16 patients with patellar dislocation underwent MPFL reconstructions. There were 2 males and 14 females, aged 11 to 27 years old (16 years old on average).
Objective: To explore the genetic characteristics and molecular regulator of Kidney-Yang Deficiency Syndrome (KDS).
Design: A typical KDS family was collected using a questionnaire of cold feeling and a 40-item scoring table of KDS based on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), by single-blind method repeated annually over three years. Their transcriptomes were assayed by microarray and validated by RT-PCR and ELISA.
