Triple combination therapy is suggested in current pulmonary arterial hypertension guidelines in case of unsatisfactory treatment with oral double combination therapy. However, there is a lack of evidence concerning some of the drug combinations currently employed. We demonstrate the clinical and hemodynamical benefits of inhaled iloprost as third add-on therapy in idiopathic pulmonary arterial hypertension.

Aims: Vitamin D has anti-inflammatory, anti-fibrotic effect, and may block the intrarenal renin-angiotensin system. Adequate vitamin D levels in conjunction with the use of Angiotensin-converting Enzyme Inhibitors/Angiotensin Receptor Blockers may help to slow down chronic kidney disease progression.

Main Methods: To study a possible beneficial effect of vitamin D supplementation in chronic kidney disease patients using angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors/angiotensin receptor blockers on chronic kidney disease progression we performed a clinical study involving vitamin D supplementation in patients with deficiency of this vitamin.
