Purpose: Electrical stimulation of trigeminal nerve branches elicits early and late reflex responses in the cervical muscles, known as the trigeminocervical reflex (TCR). This study aimed to evaluate the neurophysiological aspects, stimulation patterns, and topographic distribution of short-latency TCR components in humans in the absence of voluntary muscle activation.
Methods: This prospective observational study included 30 participants.
Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a complex challenge, influenced by genetic and environmental factors. This review focuses on the proteins calbindin (CB), calretinin (CR) and parvalbumin (PV) in the context of ASD, exploring their clinical correlations and providing a deeper understanding of the spectrum. A female patient, 47 years old, unvaccinated, with thrombophilia, was diagnosed with COVID-19. She presented with urticarial and maculopapular eruptions from the seventh day of symptoms, which progressed to multiple lesions with dark centers (D-dimer value > 1450 ng/mL).
