A Japanese woman in her 50s presented with coffee-ground vomiting at a local clinic and was referred to our hospital for further investigation. Esophagogastroduodenoscopy demonstrated a submucosal tumor in the descending part of the duodenum, and she was diagnosed with a gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) by other imaging studies.
