Laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG) is a therapeutic option in severely obese patients. The aim of this study was to evaluate the presence of Helicobacter pylori (HP) gastritis and non-Helicobacter gastritis in the gastrectomy specimens, and its association to other variables.One hundred six sleeve gastrectomy specimens were examined histopathologically for the presence of gastritis and its relation to other factors like ethnicity, glycemic control, and postoperative complications.

The Diels-Alder reaction of 4-nitrobenzodifuroxan (NBDF) with 1-methoxy-3-trimethylsilyloxy-1,3-butadiene has been investigated experimentally and theoretically. Treatment of NBDF with excess diene in chloroform at room temperature was found to afford a single product that contained a carbonyl functionality. Based on an X-ray structure and NMR spectroscopic data, the product appeared to be a result of the hydrolysis of the OSiMe(3) moiety of the thermodynamically more stable endo [2+4] cycloadduct, characterized by a cis arrangement of the MeO and NO(2) functionalities.

The interaction of 7 monoclonal antibodies (MCA) to the nucleocapsid complex and 3 MCA to protein G of the vaccine virus Vnukovo-32 with 33 and 27 members of the rabies virus group, respectively, was studied. The indirect immunofluorescence test showed 7 MCA to the nucleocapsid complex to recognize 4 antigenic determinants (AD). Two MCA recognized the AD common for all the viruses under study.
