Objective: Chemotherapy induced alopecia (CIA) is one of the most common side effects in cancer patients, however; it doesn't have an effective pharmacological treatment yet. In this study we aimed to research the protective effect of newly developed HDDPiW-jSB solution on docetaxel (DTX) -induced rat alopecia model.
Material And Methods: Docetaxel (10 mg/kg/week) was administered to the 6-8 months old rats for three weeks.

Background: This study aims to investigate the effects of different direct oral anticoagulants on experimental renal injury induced by temporary infrarenal aortic occlusion.
Methods: A total of 35 male Wistar rats (250 to 350 g) were randomly allocated to any of the five groups: sham, ischemia-reperfusion, rivaroxaban, dabigatran, and apixaban groups. Sham group underwent median laparotomy.
A common entrapment site of the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve (LFCN) is in the vicinity of the inguinal ligament. However the more distal segment of this nerve can also be affected. Electrophysiological evaluation of this nerve is difficult.

This study aimed to investigate the protective effects of short-interval postconditioning and to determine the optimal interval for reperfusion in an experimental rat model of intestinal ischaemia.

Kaposi sarcoma (KS) is a vascular neoplasm that often manifests with multiple vascular nodules on the skin and other organs. Various imaging modalities can be used to display disease extent. Herein we present a 65-year-old female patient with human immunodeficiency virus negative KS along with her whole-body positron emission tomography/computed tomography imaging findings.

Although late tamponades are more common after heart valve surgeries, this procedure is not generally performed. The present study investigated whether creating a window has a preventive effect on the formation of late cardiac tamponade after heart valve surgeries.

It occurs mostly within the extremities, trunk, head and neck. It can be associated with systemic manifestations such as anemia, pyrexia and malaise.

The most demanding complications involving esthetic and reconstructive breast surgery are the malpositioning of the implant and capsular contracture. The etiology, prevention, and management remain to be fully explained.

Objective: Because evoked potentials (EP) are reflections of the functional integrity of sensory-motor systems, they are expected to reflect the abnormality in patients with disabilities and handicaps and also be in correlation with scales. This assumption was tested.
In the present study, we hypothesized that lifetime Obsessive-Compulsive (OC) symptomatology would be risk factors for the development of Alzheimer׳s disease (AD). For this aim, first we compared 39 patients with AD and 30 age and gender matched control subjects. We have found that lifetime and current OC symptoms (OCs) and comorbid diagnosis of Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder in AD patients were significantly more prevalent than in control group.

Eosinophilic fasciitis is an uncommon entity characterized by edema, skin thickening and hyperpigmentation of extremities. Laboratory findings are variable and may include hypergammaglobulemia, peripheral eosinophilia and elevated acute phase reactants. A full-thickness skin/fascia/muscle biopsy is the gold standart for diagnosis.

Hyperreflexia has rarely been reported in the early healing period of Guillain-Barré syndrome following Campylobacter jejuni infection in patients with acute motor axonal neuropathy with antiganglioside antibody positivity.

We investigated the antioxidant properties of Li (40 and 80 mg/kg/day) and LTG (20 and 40 mg/kg/day) in a rat model of global cerebral ischemia based on permanent bilateral occlusion of the common carotid arteries (BCAO).

The aim of this study was to determine the influence of cilostazol on biochemical markers of oxidative damage, proinflammatory cytokine release, and spinal cord injury after transient aortic occlusion in rats.
Methods: Animals were randomized into 3 groups.
The primary clear cell tumor of the lung is an extremely rare benign tumor. This tumor is called "sugar tumor" since clear cell tumor of the lung contains abundant glycogen. We here present a case of lung clear cell tumor of the lung associated to essential thrombocythemia.

We investigated DMBT1 in 56 paraffin embedded specimens of transitional cell carcinoma of the urinary bladder. We assessed DMBT1 gene expression at mRNA level by RT-PCR.

In this study, we investigated whether ischemic preconditioning (IPC) improves neurologic outcome in a rabbit model.
Methods: Forty rabbits underwent infrarenal aortic occlusion.
Bladder cancer is the fifth most commonly diagnosed cancer in the United States, where the majority of tumors are transitional cell carcinoma. Deleted in malignant brain tumors 1 (DMBT1) gene is located at chromosome 10q25.3-q26.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFLong-latency reflexes (LLRs) of hand muscles include a transcortical component. Cortical relay time estimated by the subtraction of motor and somatosensory evoked potentials from LLR reflects the physiology of the central neural pathway of LLR. It is believed that 1-Hz repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) of the primary motor cortex can decrease cortical excitability for approximately 15 minutes at intracortical level.
