At least 26 dolphins died, and a similar number was refloated/herded back to sea. On necropsy, all dolphins were in good nutritive status with empty stomachs and no evidence of known infectious disease or acute physical injury.

We have compiled the first register of the marine species of the world and used this baseline to estimate how many more species, partitioned among all major eukaryotic groups, may be discovered.
Results: There are ∼226,000 eukaryotic marine species described.
Because protein hydrolysates are digested faster than the corresponding proteins, they may increase or hasten the acute eating-inhibitory effect of protein. Patients: Fifty-three consecutive women who sustained a third degree tear, between January 1998 and March 2000, at the Princess Anne Maternity Unit, Royal Bolton Hospital were assessed.
Methods: Women were assessed at 3 months post partum using the Cleveland Clinic Incontinence Score, digital assessment of anal sphincter and endo-anal ultrasound scan.
The findings are reported of a retrospective study of 207 women undergoing medical evacuation of the uterus for first trimester miscarriage, using mifepristone followed by a single dose of oral misoprostol. All women had the diagnosis confirmed by ultrasonography. Complete medical evacuation was achieved in 88% of cases.

Background: Mifepristone, followed 48 hours later by administration of misoprostol, is a well-established regimen for medical termination of pregnancy (TOP). Although this regimen is effective, its inflexibility may limit its provision in an outpatient service.
Objective: To confirm that misoprostol administration is effective whether administered 24, 48 or 72 hours after oral mifepristone.
Mitochondrial respiration in the African trypanosome undergoes dramatic developmental stage regulation. This requires co-ordinated control of components encoded by both the nuclear genome and the kinetoplast, the unusual mitochondrial genome of these parasites. As a model for understanding the co-ordination of these genomes, we have examined the regulation and mitochondrial import of a nuclear-encoded component of the cytochrome oxidase complex, cytochrome oxidase subunit VI (COXVI).
