: Partially thrombosed aneurysms represent a subset primarily found within large and giant aneurysms. The presence of an intraluminal thrombus can cause an aneurysm to present in different shapes upon angiographic examination. We present a series of five cases of "donut-shaped" aneurysms observed over the past decade at the Clinic for Neurosurgery in the University Clinical Centre of Serbia.

Background: Percutaneous radiofrequency nucleoplasty is a true minimally invasive technique for treatment for radiculopathy caused by contained disc protrusions. This minimally invasive procedure uses controlled thermoablation for reducing the intervertebral disc and decompressing the lumbar nerve root. Material and Methods: Our study is a prospective analysis of 27 patients aged from 30 to 64 years with lumbar disc protrusion who were treated with percutaneous radiofrequency disc decompression (PRFD) between May 2018 and May 2019.

However, the efficient and cost-effective production of green hydrogen via alkaline electrolysis requires improvements. This paper presents an in situ activation process that simplifies the alkaline electrolysis technology while enhancing the catalytic activity of electrodes for the hydrogen evolution reaction.

This effort led to the discovery of potent BET inhibitors displaying overall improved profiles when compared to JQ1 and birabresib. A thiadiazole derived 1q (SJ1461) displayed excellent BRD4 and BRD2 affinity and high potency in the panel of acute leukaemia and medulloblastoma cell lines.

In this paper, two strategies, for the first time, were used to improve energy density: MnO- and N-dual doped carbon electrode and aqueous mixture of multivalent ions as electrolyte. MnO- and N-dual doped carbon was prepared by a novel and cost-effective procedure using deep eutectic solvent.

Several coumarin derivatives with a directly attached azole substituent at C-4 were synthesized and biologically studied for their anticancer properties. The cell lines used for this investigation (HeLa, K-562, MDA-MB-53, and MCF-7) demonstrated different sensitivities. The best response in the MTT (3-(4,5-dimethyl-2-thiazolyl)-2,5-diphenyl-2H-tetrazolium bromide) assay was shown by K-562 cells, with compounds displaying activity (3c, IC 3.

Taking biopsy and subtotal resection is the starting point in essential approach for the treatment. After defining the histopathological nature of the tumor and specified that is Pilomyxoid, the next step is the combination of reoperation and adjuvant therapy.

Src activation also reduces reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation, whereas Src inhibitors are able to increase cellular ROS levels.
Methods: Pro-oxidative effects of two pyrazolo[3,4-]pyrimidine derivatives-Src tyrosine kinase inhibitors, Si306 and its prodrug pro-Si306-were investigated in human GBM cells U87 and patient-derived GBM-6.
Objective: The objective was to determine the antibiofilm efficacy of Cymbopogon martinii and Thymus zygis essential oils and to estimate the disruption potential of oil-based endodontic irrigants on the multispecies biofilm formed in the root canals of extracted teeth.
Design: The essential oils were characterized (GC-MS), while their antibacterial and cytotoxic properties were detected by microdilution and MTT assays. Particles sizes and polydispersity indices were determined for the irrigants.
Glioblastoma (GBM), as the most aggressive brain tumor, displays a high expression of Src tyrosine kinase, which is involved in the survival, migration, and invasiveness of tumor cells. Thus, Src emerged as a potential target for GBM therapy. The effects of Src inhibitors pyrazolo[3,4-]pyrimidines, Si306 and its prodrug pro-Si306 were investigated in human GBM cell lines (U87 and U87-TxR) and three primary GBM cell cultures.

A 32-year-old man presented to our emergency department because of sudden onset of severe headache. He had a six-month history of paroxysmal headache, palpitations, and sweating.

Oxidative stress is known to contribute to the progression of cerebrovascular disease and it may be increased by inflammation, a key contributor to cerebral aneurysm development and rupture. The aim of this study was to examine the role of overall oxidative stress as a risk factor for rupture of PICA aneurysms.

Despite current therapeutic strategies, including surgery, radiation and chemotherapy, the median survival of glioblastoma patients is 15 months. The development of this tumor depends on a sub-population of glioblastoma stem cells governing tumor propagation and therapy resistance.

The verified presence of a glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) tumor in the motor area of the brain, in a patient lacking preoperative neurological deficit, offers no certainty that the tumor can be radically removed without the possibility of causing postoperative motor deficit. We present a series of 60 patients hospitalized at the Clinical Department of Neurosurgery, Clinical Center of Serbia in Belgrade between October 2011 and February 2015, harboring tumors located within and in the vicinity of the motor zone of the brain. By using Karnofsky's index (KI), the pre- and postoperative conditions of the patients were evaluated.
