Introduction: The proboscis monkey () is an endangered species with a declining population. This article describes the first successful attempt at sperm collection and evaluation, and the testicular and sperm morphometries of the wild proboscis monkey in Sabah, Malaysia.

In addition to the protection of this vulnerable species in its natural habitat (), conservation breeding efforts () aim at maintaining a good genetic diversity while increasing the number of individuals to reinforce wild populations.
