Physicians' knowledge and attitudes in Saudi Arabia regarding implantable cardiac defibrillators.

Objectives: To evaluate knowledge and attitude of physicians involved in the management of patients with heart failure regarding implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD).

Methods: We conducted personal interviews with physicians involved in treating patients with heart failure. Between October 2015 and February 2016, the study was conducted in hospitals in the Riyadh region where no cardiac electrophysiology service was available.

Acute myocarditis associated with novel Middle east respiratory syndrome coronavirus.

The novel Middle east respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MeRS-CoV) has been identified as a cause of pneumonia; however, it has not been reported as a cause of acute myocarditis. A 60-year-old man presented with pneumonia and congestive heart failure. On the first day of admission, he was found to have an elevated troponin-l level and severe global left ventricular systolic dysfunction on echo-cardiography.

Purpose: To describe a new method to quantify the left atrial contraction contribution (ACC) to left ventricular (LV) filling using cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR).

Materials And Methods: We assessed 120 normal subjects (50% female) using steady-state free precession CMR volumetry. Volumes measurements were performed using short axis and rotational long axis views.
