Myositis ossificans circumscripta of the thigh: A pediatric case report.

Circumscribed myositis ossificans is a benign process of focal heterotopic ossification of the soft tissues, occurring in young subjects, usually following trauma. We report a case of a 15-year-old patient who suffered a direct trauma to the thigh during a soccer match, and developed a hard mass in the anterior face of the thigh. The patient was diagnosed with myositis ossificans secondary to trauma.

Tibia vara caused by focal fibrocartilaginous dysplasia: A rare case report.

Focal fibrocartilaginous dysplasia is an uncommon benign bone condition that predominantly affects children and typically leads to varus deformities in the proximal tibia. It was first described by Bell in 1985. The etiology remains unknown and the diagnosis is radiological; biopsy is not necessary.

Chondromyxoid Fibroma-Like Osteosarcoma in a 13 Years Old Girl: A Report of a New Case.

Osteosarcoma (OS) is the most common primary non hematopoietic malignant tumor of bone with a strict histologic definition: the presence of unequivocal osteoid produced by neoplastic cells. Rare variants displaying low-grade histological features have been described; among which chondromyxoid fibroma-like (CMF-OS) is the rarest. However, despite its bland morphology; CMF-like OS has an aggressive clinical behavior and a poor prognosis.

[Scapular involvement: uncommon presentation of childhood tuberculosis].

Tuberculosis of bone is an infectious disease which represents a major public health problem in developing countries where it is endemic. Osteoarticular involvement accounts for 1-5% of all cases of tuberculosis, shoulder involvement is very rare and accounts for 1-2% of all cases of osteoarticular tuberculosis. We here report an uncommon case of TB infection involving the scapula, reaching the scapular body.

[Aneurysmal bone cyst of the clavicle: about a case].

Anevrysmal bone cyst is an aggressive, destructive but benign lesion in the long bones, spine or basin, affecting mainly children and young adults. However, it is a very rare tumor. We here report the case of a 8-year old boy with a very rare localization of anevrysmal cyst in the clavicle, initially presenting with pathologic bone fracture, that is a benign cystic lesion.

Unusual case of congenital/infantile fibrosarcoma in a new born.

Congenital infantile fibrosarcoma (CIFS) is a rare mesenchymal tumor that is primarily developed in the soft tissue of distal extremities and occasionally in unusual locations such as the lung and retroperitoneum. It occurs mainly in children below the age of 5 years. About 200 cases have been reported in the literature so far, very few of them in new-borns.

Peripheral osteoarticular tuberculosis in children: 106 case-reports.

Introduction: We retrospectively reviewed 106 pediatric cases of peripheral osteoarticular tuberculosis (OAT) seen over a 21-year period in Morocco. Patients with vertebral tuberculosis were excluded from the study.
