Extensive research suggests that curcumin interferes with multiple cell signaling pathways involved in cancer development and progression. This study aimed to evaluate curcumin effects on adrenocortical carcinoma (ACC), a rare but very aggressive tumor. Curcumin reduced growth, migration and activated apoptosis in three different ACC cell lines, H295R, SW13, MUC-1.

Prevalence and risk factors associated with readmission with acute kidney injury in patients receiving vancomycin outpatient parenteral antimicrobial therapy.

Introduction: Vancomycin is commonly used during outpatient parenteral antimicrobial therapy (OPAT). Therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) of vancomycin is recommended to ensure effective and safe therapy, as use has been associated with acute kidney injury (AKI).

Methods: The MarketScan® Commercial Database was queried from 2010 to 2016 to identify patients aged 18-64 years discharged from an inpatient hospitalization on vancomycin OPAT.

Hepatitis B Virus Seroprevalence Among Children With Cancer in Sudan.

Background: The seroprevalence of hepatitis B among children with cancer in Sudan is unknown. The aim of this study was to detect the seroprevalence of hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection in children with malignancy and its correlation with different risk factors.

Procedure: This study included 178 children with malignancy presenting to the Radioisotope Center in Khartoum during the period of May-July 2011.
