Background: Emulsion droplet triacylglycerol (TAG) crystallinity and colloidal stability can alter the postprandial metabolism, although evidence of their interactive effects is limited.

Objectives: This acute meal crossover study investigated the influences of droplet TAG crystallinity at 37°C and colloidal gastric stability on gastric emptying (GE), acute lipemia, and satiety.

Methods: We gave 15 healthy adult males (mean ± SD age, 24.

Introduction: This study aimed to evaluate postsurgical changes of nasal tip and lateral nostril characteristics after semi-tongue-in-groove (TIG) technique in open rhinoplasty surgery.

Materials And Methods: This prospective observational study was performed in a before-after setting on 22 patients who underwent open rhinoplasty surgery using semi-TIG technique. Postoperative photographs were analyzed for nasal tip and lateral nostril changes at several time points (1, 4, and 12 weeks after surgery) and were compared with preoperative photographs.

We investigated the effect of protein composition and, in particular, the presence of whey proteins or β-casein on the digestion behavior of a model infant formula using an in vivo piglet model. Three isocaloric diets optimized for piglets were prepared with the same concentrations of protein. For protein source, 1 diet contained only whey proteins and 2 contained a casein:whey protein ratio of 40:60 but differed in the amount of β-casein.

Meniere's disease is the disorder of inner ear characterized by vertigo, tinnitus and sensorineural hearing loss. The vestibular evoked myogenic potential (VEMP) test could be useful in the analysis of saccular function, and diagnosis of Meniere's disease. In this study, we've analyzed the saccular function, using VEMP test in different groups of Meniere's disease.

Socket preservation using a combination of porcine xenograft and collagen membrane maintains the vertical and horizontal dimensions of the ridge. The aim of this study was to evaluate the microarchitecture of the grafted area by histological analysis and micro-computed tomography. Patients in the test group (group 1; nine patients) underwent socket preservation, while the sockets in the control group (group 2; eight patients) were allowed to heal without preservation.

This randomized clinical trial was designed to compare three different reduction methods for anterior temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dislocation. The three methods evaluated were the conventional method, wrist pivot method, and extraoral method. The study sample comprised 90 consecutive patients suffering from anterior dislocation of the TMJ, who were allocated randomly to one of the three groups.

Nanorods hydroxyapatite, (HAP) Ca(10)(PO(4))(6)(OH)(2) is successfully prepared by water in oil microemulsion using, CaCL(2) and H(3)PO(4) (water phase), poly(sodium 4-styrene sulfonate) (PSSS) as template and cyclohexane as oil phase. The nano-structure of the product was studied by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transmission infrared spectrometer (FT-IR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and atomic force microscope (AFM). With this system, we could synthesize nano-particles of hydroxyapatite with high crystallinity and least agglomeration.
